    HID bulb replacement options

    Hi all,

Yesterday just before I did the stage 1 tune on my s4, my passenger side HID died. Id rather not spend dealer pricing for a new one. does anyone have any suggestions i can pickup on amazon? I know philips has an option for 80 dollars. My only concern is color temp. I dont want to end up with two different color headlights.

Any experience or suggestions would be appreciated.

    You should replace both.

Definitely switch both at the same time. You don't want mismatched brightness or even color. And the days of your other HID is numbered.

If you want a better option, philips offers the x treme vision gen 2 for about $230 for a pair. Definitely brighter than oem HIDs

Don't buy cheap bulbs from Amazon, they are either crap, or counterfeit. Buy from theretrofirsource.com of LightWerkz. Osram CBI is really good option too. They come as a pair for 165 and are a really nice bulb. Just know HIDs take a few hours of runtime before they get to full brightness and color, but as the stock were toast anyway, you should notice a pretty nice difference with any good bulb.

I've been running these 4300k ZRSJ bulbs from Amazon for the past year and have been nothing but impressed. $33 for a pair. I first bought them out of curiosity and planned on returning them. However, after putting some hours on them I decided to keep them.

I'm not just comparing to the OEM Xenarcs either... I've ran Night Breaker Lasers, CBIs, and CBBs. Decided to try a cheap set this time around because I saw a review posted on BulbFacts.

For about 10 years, I've used Morimoto products from The Retrofit Source. Everything from replacement HID bulbs to full retrofit HID kits. I always recommend them. My S4 has been running their replacement bulbs for 2 years now, and I'm obviously still very happy with them.
