C8 Allroad Wide wheels and Tires - Fitment Recommendations

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey all - I have a C8 Allroad inbound and am already planning some mods - first up after PPF is wheels and tires. Will lower the car either with links or CETE, but not slammed. Looking to fit some 22s and interested in anyone's experience or knowledge (confidence) in using up some inside space - like 5-8 mm. And, will a 20-22 mm extension overfill the outside too badly - for this, I'm thinking a 9.5 et35 wheel; et30 might be better, but not sure - hence I'm reaching out here. If I need to stick with just a 9 inch wide wheel, I'd like to know that too - then I'm probably looking at a 9 et30 or 35.

As for tires, I don't want to go nuts (RS6 nuts at 285s anyway) but 265 sounds about right. In that case could I stand the +2% difference in OD with a 265/35 as the tire I want is available in that size but not 265/30 ...

Thanks for any help or even just comments -
    - Roger

I run 22X9 Et30 265/30/22 with no issues. Max I'd run is ET27 with a 9" and ET32 with a 10" with the same tire on a daily. Good luck!

Wow - those are a wide range : compared with the stock 8.5 et43, your 9 et30 have 7mm MORE clearance inside and extend 19 mm further. The 9 et27 have 10 mm MORE clearance inside and extend 22 mm, a little more aggressive to the outside BUT also more clearance inside too. The 10 et32 on the other hand has 8 mm LESS clearance inside (it's that much closer to the suspension) and extends 22 mm MORE to the outside, the same as the 9 et27.

I'd like to fit 9.5 et35, which has 5 mm less inside than the stock wheel, and extends 21 mm more outside - so it's between yours and the 10 et32. My concern is the inside clearance, where the 10 et32 has 8 mm less than the stock wheel and my desired wheel a bit more at just 5mm less. So, if the 10 et32 do fit, it looks like I'll be fine with the 9.5 et35 ... I'd like to run 265/35-22 which are about a half inch taller overall (at 29.3 in), but I hope that they'd fit anyway - within 2% of the stock OD (28.7 in). thoughts - comments ? Thanks for your reply and input ...

    A couple things:

    1. Stock is 20X8.5 ET37. I'm dead even with stock with inside clearance and approximately 13mm further out with my setup. If I could do it all over, I'd do a 275/30/22 with my setup. There is currently some room both ways and I would get a slightly taller tire. Although, I do like how low my car gets and how low I can drive it without rubbing.

    2. Keep in mind the wide range I gave you has to do with tire stretch. The stretch with a 265/30/22 on a 10" will fit different that what's on my car.

    3. There appears to be quite a bit of room in these cars for inboard clearance although a 265/35/22 is huge and I wouldn't run that. Maybe if you left it at stock height. My concern is the inside of the rear wheel well. I would be confident with you running a 22X9.5 ET33 to ET35 with a 275/30/22 tire with a mild drop.

If you want to PM me your number I can set my car at a ride height that you would want yours at and I can take some shots of my car from different angles to demonstrate clearance.

Thanks again - my ‘stock’ wheel came from ETKA as I don’t have my car yet, sorry - and it (ETKA) shows both et37 and et43 as ‘stock.’ On the same size wheel, the 265/30 and 265/35 differ only in about the 0.6in OD which is at 2%, the oft-recommended max difference from stock, so I feel that IF the height allowance is there, it wouldn’t be that big a difference. The 275/30 you’re wanting to go to is 28.5 in OD just shy of the stock OD (28.7in), which is within 1% and I think a good choice too. Check you PMs and THANKS SO MUCH for your help...

2021 Allroad C8 want a more flush wheel fitment

Hi Guys, I have a 2021 C8 A6 Allroad. Lowered it with the electronicworks ASC module. I want to swap the wheels and tires for a more flush look. I was thinking 265/35R20 tires on 10”x 20” rims, ET27. Any thoughts on this set up? Any better suggestions?

    Id go 255/35/r22. On 22x9.5. Rim. Et30. To et35.

That size tire on a 9.5 looks really nice.

Im seeing the tsw as a et35, not et30. Running a 5mm spacer?

Wondering if they would fit. Any opinions?

Just following up here. I went with 22x10.5J, ET 42 with 295/25 tires. Fits perfectly, could even come out a bit more with a spacer. I drive with the lowest CETE module setting and no rubbing.

That looks incredible. We have identical cars btw, mine is still on the stock wheels but I do have Yakima crossbars and a Thule box incoming.

Thanks! I really don’t know. I don’t see the wheels on any option package for the US right now. But they are still available from the dealership and the dealership matched the eBay retailer prices.

Yes, it appears to have the black optic package. That is the first avalon green with black optic I have seen. Looks great! Are you going to black out the badges? Any plans for the car @miketee?

I misunderstood your question. Yes the Allroad has the black optics package. I drove from Florida to Montana with my trade to buy this and drove it back. Have not seen another Avalon green with black optics.

I probably will not do any mods except a mild tint.

The Audi techs made an attempt to lower it using their software/laptops but were unable. But I think it’s ok as is, I would only want to lower it maybe half inch at most.

Just picked up 2020 A6 Allroad this past weekend. Wheels need to go. I’m thinking 20x10 +40 with 275/40 tires. I’m guessing this will work with no issues since there is a guy in here with 295s. But I just want to double check. I have some ghost links on order and plan on dropping an inch or so. What to make sure there no issues up front turning the steering wheel from lock to lock.

    Wheels : 21x9
    Tyre: 265/40 r21

I fit perfectly Q5 R8 OEM wheels : 235/55 r 19 which are same in dimentions. Anyone tried it ?

    Other options is :

    Wheels: 21x10.5
    Tyre: 275/35 r21

    ET is the question?

    C8 2020 A6 Allroad with 255/50-20 tires vs. stock 245/45 -20

Has anyone tried this? The increased sidewall by 0.68", which for me wishing for a possible smoother (even quieter) ride could be nice. The 0.39" increased width shouldn't, from what I've read here, be an issue.

    Bad idea....
I got by to look at the taller tires, and it _could_ work if I kept the car on an Offroad or high height setting. Not a good option. I'll stick with stock or a less extra tall size.
