I am looking at buying a 14 Q5 with the dash lit up like a christmas tree. CEL, EPC, and every light that comes with those (Traction, ect). The codes are showing p0087(fuel pressure), p0299(Turbo), and p0016(Timing). It runs as is with no misfire and is sitting right at 100k miles.
The owner says that he took it to the dealer and it needs a new motor. I am not seeing a situation where it could need a new motor with no misfire on this one. I have replaced turbos, fuel pumps, and timing chains on my current B8 A4 so I am not afraid of those but I would have trouble with an engine swap.
Am I missing something where the dealer could be right and it does need a new motor or is this motor most likely salvageable?
