Verification if B9 S4 was a manufacturer buyback

I found a pre-owned 2018 S4 for sale at a non-Audi dealership. The carfax report was fairly helpful on it's history, but it is not exactly clear as to whether this vehicle was a manufacturer buyback due to Lemon status. I have a suspicion it was and cannot get detailed info searching by the VIN. Will Audi provide that information if I provide the VIN?

From everything that I'm seeing it does not appear that this vehicle was part of any sort of repurchase program through AoA/VWGoA. It does appear that it was sold at an auction about 2 months back, so it might be helpful to inquire further information from the current owner but I don't see anything on our end. Let me know if you have other questions!

Not necessarily as things like this slip through the cracks on reporting with Carfax. If you put your full trust in their reporting, that's fine. But if you don't mind, when I'm getting ready to drop 40K+ on a car, it doesn't hurt to verify with Audi as an extra step to validate a concern.

Don't be afraid of a buy-Back.......way back when I bought a 2-year-old 2003 A6 with 11k miles that was a buy-back due to Air condition issues. Audi replaced the entire AC system......300K Miles later the ac stilled worked with out any service. Also, I think by Law they have to disclose It's a buy-back, what the issue was, and that issue was repaired before it can be sold. My car came with all kinds of paperwork regarding the issue and the repair done by Audi. It was a Beverly Hills Audi, I bought on ebay from a dealer in Arizona. I live in the Midwest. I loved that car!
