    Custom “Autozone” Special intake

Finally got around to completing my custom “Autozone” intake yesterday. I used an Spectre universal intake tube kit and a Spectre cone filter. Had to cut the tube some for fitment and sprayed it with red high temperature ceramic paint I had laying around the house. I also modded the stock air box by cutting the bottom of it out and kept the snorkel piece. Added some weather stripping around the tube and air box opening to give it a snug fit. Outcome looks great. Sounds awesome too.

I figured I would give my fellow C6 3.0T owners ideas on what it possible on a budget.

That looks good. Do you have a sound clip?

What a great solution. Especially utilizing the original air box. Very nice.

I’ll try and get a sound clip either tonight or tomorrow. Been busy potty training my son.

That's awesome, nice work. Did the generic intake tube come with the rubber piece to block off the hole?

I had to get creative with some weather stripping.

That is very nice. I think it sounds better than my Roc-Euro, because it's still slightly muffled and no too prominent. Just right.

That sounds nice. Not too loud. I've been thinking about getting a intake. I think I'll try this first. I put a intake tube from a 3.2 on and I now have some S/C whine but not as much as this mod. This sounds like a good in between solution.

Yeah. It did. It came with several different fittings.
