    Hi,

    thank you! P/N: 50385

Average drop is ~20mm her H&R website. I'd say it's a little more than that. Closer to 25mm.

    Thanks

I agree 25mm for H&R seems perfect going on that picture.

Are 034 Springs 25mm similar drop??

034 is less. I forgot to measure before but I would guess 20mm rear 15mm front drop.

Correct. This is the drop with 034, I measured mine about a month after install.

Another reason it looks lower is it’s on H&R spacers too.

In my experience, spacers make the car appear higher as any fender gap is more noticeable the closer the tire gets to flush with the fender.

My S5 Sportback sits about the same way. I called H&R and sent them a few pics thinking the car was sitting too high in the rear. Here is part of their response.

I’ve reviewed the photo with several of my colleagues, and it does appear to lower appropriately.
I do see the gap at the rear of the car, but on stock S5’s the rear end appears to sit a touch bit higher from the factory, our kit was designed to mimic that result only lower.

To verify the proper springs are installed, the 50385 kit comes with the following springs:

    Front: 28757VA w/ a red paint mark
    Rear: 28757-5HA

My car is not sitting on bump stops front or rear, it’s just not as low in the back as I expected. I did compare to a photo with stock springs (same wheels installed) and it did have the same rake, so I took H&Rs response as good enough. Wondering if there’s another option to get a little lower in the rear or if I should just order the adjustable springs.

I also reached out to H&R and sent them photos. Their response was that the S5 sits higher in the rear. Also, they confirmed that the bump stops do not need to be cut.

I edited the photo so you can see the wheel gap. As you can see the rear sits about 10mm higher than the front.

And that’s why I got the VTF springs... I learned my lesson with my A3 where the rear sat lower. I think it might be the weight of the engine on the front springs. Although I did find that we had to keep adjusting the rear because the driver side kept settling lower. 🤦🏻

I originally had the H&R Sport lowering springs. My setup was 20" Niche Gamma wheels with 10mm spacers to clear the breaks (image below) however I found it to be a bit too low and in certain cases like bumps, the front wheels would touch the fender on the inside. I then went out and changed the H&R lowering springs to the KW Height Adjust Springs and raised the car a bit, I believe I am about 0.75" lowered from stock now. I will post another pic at some point when I take it, but the picture attached is using the H&Rs.

Thanks ! ET30 offset seems to be the perfect fitment with no rubbing?

    Wheel setup:

    NICGE GAMMA 20X10.5 +40 5X112 GLOSS BLACK
275/30/20 CONTINENTAL EXTREME CONTACT SPORT XL 97Y
    H&R SPORT SPRINGS B9 S5
    10MM SPACER KIT

It was too low I found with my wheel setup, reason why I went with the height adjustable springs. But the pick below are using the H&Rs.

    Hope this helps.

Anyone else with photos of their lowered S5?

I’ll be looking for a set soon and am still undecided. I rather not go with adjustable only because I know I’ll set them once and never touch them again - as I have done historically with past cars.

Will post more pictures when we have better weather...thanks to all the advice guys car rides a bit stiffer than stock but has started to settle after 200 miles and less stiff now especially in comfort.

I say this because when I first installed H&R springs on my S5 I did not trim and the car sat oddly, lower front, higher rear. I inspected and found the rear bumpstops were effecting the resting ride height. The front was almost touching as well and in time would have when the springs settled. I trimmed front and rear bumpstops, the rear came down visibly as the springs settled and the front now actually has proper suspension range of motion without contacting the bumpstops.

With springs that lower less than the H&R springs it's still a requirement to trim the bumpstops if you want the car to ride without hitting them repeatedly. Bumpstops are not meant to be part of the suspension that holds weight or is repeatedly contacted/used. With stock suspension heights the bumpstops are used to avoid hard contact with the chassis and disallowing the shock internals to bottom out under very large suspension movement. This means that any larger movement of the suspension engages the bumpstops adding a massive change in spring rate during contact, bumpstops increase the spring rate massively when they are engaged which is not their intention.

That is how little room there is with a half trimmed bumpstop with this car which has H&R springs:

My S5 sat normally front/rear after the bumpstops were trimmed, the rear being the most effected. Every single lowering spring or adjustable spring kit for these models requires the bumpstops be trimmed for proper suspension travel and/or in some cases proper resting ride height.

    Cheers,
Hey Alex I'm dealing with the same issue on my b9.5 at the moment, with the front being super low and the rear being too high in comparison. So you noticed the front came up after trimming? did you have to pull all of the suspension to do the trimming?

I have the h&r springs and they all look like this, I personally like the look. I’ve heard of some other brands causing reverse rake (higher in the front then the back). That’s the only time when it should be an issue.

Just installed 034 springs on my ‘18 S5. Car is flat, same drop, front and rear. Had HandR on my Allroad, back was a bit higher, good for Allroad, but the S5 is better with 034.

BTW, same wheels on both cars, slightly taller tires on the Allroad, 255-35-19 tires on the S5.

Can someone help with letting me know if I can get the 034 springs installed with 275/30 tires on 20x9 et35 wheels without spacers?

I have 12.5mm spacers in the rear and no spacers in the front. I have 10mm spacers for the front purchased but the fitment is not perfect with the aftermarket wheels so I removed them for now. Would prefer leaving as is.
