Modified headlights various options

In my case I clear cornered my lamps a few years ago. I currently moved to Honolulu 6mths ago for a good job but plan on settling on the Big Island a couple of years down the road. Hawaii has a stupid state inspection and I heard a lot of places will fail you if you are clear cornered. The RS6 is still in my shop in WA state but I'll probably just replace the "Silver but flashes Orange" bulbs with Orange bulbs and try those first for the turn signals. If that fails I may try a translucent film stuck on the outside for the inspection. Like most places in the U.S. they have the overly lowered junk, cars that are blowing smoke, and other wrecks on the road but I can't believe they'd fail me for clear corners. I also have E-codes on my RS5 & S5 so we'll see. I've got the S5 with me but I'm still running WA plates.

What are your latest options. I've been thinking about this, and talking to you about this for years so I should get a move on it. Would you like a deposit on the RS6 set to hold them? Car is White so I'm thinking not Blacked out?? Opinions?

Yes, we have talked before. Combinations are endless. I can get you any insert color possible. I like them dark, but there's something about full chrome headlights, they look super clean and they really pop in sunlight.

I'm already working on two sets at the moment. I will have one more set done (this would be the last available I have on hand) you can put deposit on and we can work options that you would prefer. It's very hard to come across a clean 4.2 V8 set lately that could be rebuilt,past couple years it's s real struggle.

Those do look beautiful. Clear corners alone makes any C5 look better. How were your old lenses? Have you adjusted the beams and driven it at night yet? I've got my set on order right now even though I'm away (2000mi+)
from my car. I haven't daily driven it in years but I do miss it lately.

His lenses weren't that great, unfortunately.

There was a protective film installed long ago, and it was completely yellowed. You leave it past its life span, and it'll damage lenses. That glue eats through the lens and causes microcracks/crazing, and that can't be corrected with lens restoration. Not end of the world, but it'll affect appearance a bit, not much effect on performance.

There's no lenses for 4.2 cars. They're different. Specific to 4.2 A6/S6/RS6.

Hopefully anyone considering clear urethane on their headlights, will see your pictures, and think again.

Yeah These headlights were pretty rough. To be honest the whole car was pretty rough when I picked it up about a year and a half ago. It needed a lot of TLC.

I havn't gotten around to aligning the headlights yet, but the difference is amazing. Before the light output felt like maybe 10-15 feet. But now I can actually see going down the road.
Once I get them aligned i'll throw up some nighttime pics.

Some are here, some are gone sadly.
Yes, I always go with black inserts on mine. I love the look, makes them stand out from regular C5.

I did similar complete headlight rebuild for my Allroad starting with a $100/pair from German Ebay, and it took me almost a month (I had another pair on the car). Lots of work to do it right.

Those sure do look great. I wasn't able to get back to Washington for the Holidays so they are just sitting there in the boxes. Can't wait to get them installed. My car's OEM headlamps are in very good condition but but these look even better and can't wait for the light at night.

They do, but you'll lose auto-leveling function.

allroad ones work just as stock ones would on A6, but not vice-versa unfortunately.

Auto leveling motor is different on A6 ones and has 3 wires instead allroad one that comes with 4. If you swap wiring for the motor and motor itself from allroad in them they'll work as they should.

Allroad headlights look better than A6, I would view it as a downgrade. Swapping a leveling motor and wiring is doable.
