Allroad 4.2 - Help finding Part No. for Y-Connector to Upper Radiator Coolant Hose

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Been scratching my head with this one for a bit now.

2005 4.2 Allroad. Have a coolant leak coming from the Y-connector that connects from the bottom of the Upper Radiator Hose. Think that's the name for it, anyway. Part # 4Z7121103 *This is the hose referenced, not the Y-connector as I can't find it. I suspect ECS has the hose mislabeled, calling it "lower" when it should be Upper.

It's a trickle leak. Have to top off coolant with every tank of gas. Appears to only leak once system is warm/pressurized.
It appears the previous owner tried to seal the leak with JB weld, but it was ineffective. On inspection the hoses seem fine, clamp is on there tight. Material is pliable, not brittle or cracked.
Interestingly enough, I tried filing off the JB weld and resealing it myself. When filed off, there was no obvious crack in the plastic, and after resealing the leak is still there

Hose (with offending Y-connector) removed from car:

Greater Pic for Context (passenger side, behind headlight, below removable air intake piping) with Y connector circled:

In case the photos are prohibitively large, album located at: https://imgur.com/F4svHq2

Does anyone have any clue where I can find this plastic connector? Local Audi wasn't much help. I've bought 4 different ones from amazon, ECS, etc and none of them fit quite right. One was close, but the skinny arm of the Y was slightly too small. Forcing me to attempt to repair my current part.

The part number is for the longer rubber hose and smaller Y piece, I don't think it is mislabeled, you can see the part number right on the part in the picture on ECS. The plastic piece you have outlined in your picture (the larger Y) is not shown in the picture you link to at ECS.

Try looking for the piece here.

Correct on all counts. Sorry for the confusion. Edited OP for clarity.
That ECS link is just for reference for that rad hose (even though it confusingly has its own Y at the other non-offending end of it). The alleged leaky Y-connector doesn't appear to be associated with that particular PN.
That link is blocked at my work, will have to check back at home.

I think partslink24 is wrong. I can't see a way that T-piece would fit in the current location without modification

Anyway, went to a different Audi Service Dept that ended up being of help. They pulled a specific cooling diagram for my VIN, and ID'd the exact part. And were able to share the trivia that my Allroad was born 11/11/'04
They refused to share the part# with me, naturally. But were able to order it from some obscure warehouse down south for $36+tax. Supposed to be in by middle of next week.

I'm going to see if I can't get an official Part# for it after the fact and come back here to share it

It will be on the bag. I don't know why they wouldn't just tell you.

Couldn't you just get the hole hose?

It's to the point where all the problems just run together in a spider web of disappointment and mush.

He could, but the part he wants isn't part of that.

Official part number from the bag is 4Z7 121 087

Can't seem to find the part online anywhere. Only get results for 087A, which is that T-piece.
