    Gauge pods/Mounting Solutions?

I can't seem to find many gauge pod/mounting solutions other than the ECS vent pod for the center vent or the two offered from Aeroforce. Any other options still out there? It looks like the podi steering wheel pod is discontinued.

Is there a solution to mount a 52mm in the left vent kinda like the P3 setup?

So did more research for anyone looking and found a column pod for a B6\B7 that is advertised to fit the B8 as well from NGP Racing. The brand is New South Performance. I'll report back with my findings.

    https://store.ngpracing.com/new-sout...-s4-a5-s5.html

Found a website who still had the podi column pod advertised for sale as well. Placed the order, see if it gets cancelled.

I may also order an eBay special left vent pod to see what the fitment looks like. This is my ideal location.

Worst comes to worst I'll go with the Aeroforce defroster pod.

I have been hunting for a while for the column pod. Will be interested to hear how these work out. The b7-b8 look similar in shape the the connections appear different but only going off of parts photos.

If you get the Podi and want to sell let me know.

I might end up going defroster vent.

I have all three on order(NGP, Ebay, Podi), but the Podi order is still processing, which makes me think it will be canceled any time now. Ebay one will take some time to get here from China, the B6/B7 will be here on Thursday and ill try and get it test fitted Thursday night/Friday.

Keep us updated. I'm planning to install the Aeroforce gauge down the road also.

Test fitted the New South Performance pod, Pictures below (excuse the dirty car). I think it will work as advertised, but the cutouts for blinker/wiper do not line up 100%. I did test both and they clear, so it may so just be more of a cosmetic thing. I also confirmed the pod front clears the steering wheel and does not rub. The Pod comes with instructions, sticker, and a rubber band for the gauge.

My Aeroforce Interceptor arrives on Friday, ill see how snug it fits. It looks deep enough to not need to drill out the back, but we will see. You can also see in the pictures there is enough room to tuck the wires underneath the pod and have it come out the back near the steering column.

You will need your own double sided tape, did not include any.

called about the Podi pod today, the online sales person was out on leave so they are behind on orders. Will keep posted.

China vent pod order I confirmed LHD and 52mm(They sell LHD and RHD, as well as 52mm or 60mm), so just waiting for snail mail and customs at this point.

Bummer on the Podi. Wonder if they’ll ever run another batch.

Thanks for the detailed pics. Might have to go this route.

Cool there is another solution but I'm not looking for a P3 style gauge, I was looking more towards an aeroforce gauge. Updated pics in a moment.

So Aeroforce showed up a day early, nice surprise. I had no issues whatsoever getting the gauge in the pod, no cutting the back out or anything of that sort needed. I even got to use the gauge retainer bracket that comes with the Aeroforce and did not need to use the rubber band or tape it. You can tighten the retainer screws enough to hold the gauge in the pod, but still be able to rotate the face of the gauge to get it level. Pics below:

I have the tape on the pod, but have not applied it yet its just sitting on the column for now. I also ran the cable tied the extra cable up above the kick panel near the OBD plug in. I may re-route it but wanted to see what it looks like first. Seems like this pod will be a good alternative to the Podi if it never comes back.

Yeah, why can't they make a low-profile one that uses the P3 gauge on top of the steering column?

One more update for those still following, got the Vent pod in the mail today and did a quick install. I would say it is still my favorite position out of all the choices, but the fit/finish could be much better for the item ordered. You remove the factory vent assembly, and this clicks into its place on the dash trim/chrome bezel.

Ill give this a try for a few and decide wither or not its livable. Last step will be the Aeroforce upper vent pod if I get bored of this.

May try this out as well. On a side note, is it an '04 SVT Cobra?

Ha, '03 I've had for about 5 years now. Lives in the garage most of its life, but sometimes you just wanna let a big blower v8 rip.

Rough prototype - but the guys there got interested once I made it quickly! It lands to them next week, and then around two weeks to model up a good version.

I’d be expecting a RHD model in single and dual available within 6-8 weeks

I had an issue trying to decide where to mount my boost gauge. There is a hex-screw below the steering wheel to the right that fastens the lower dash to the frame... I made a simple custom metal bracket (90 degree bent) with drilled holes, and I was able to mount my Pro Sport gauge like this:

I personally wanted the car to remain with a factory feel, and felt that I was too old to advertise boost to anyone besides myself so I was pleased with this solution. I do have a P3 gauge that reads boost but this second gauge is a mechanical tap to the intake manifold. I case anyone is wondering it sees about ~1psi larger range of boost/vacuum than the P3, but other than that they have always been on par with one another.

Sorry getting this back from the dead.

For those who tested the LHD driver side vent pod.
How practical is this position for wiring?
Have the center vent grill for my meth controller.
Sadly there isn't an option available to use the right side center vent also.
Since wiring is easy for this one it would have being the most practical.

Want to add an AFR gauge but there are some decent sized wires on them.
Not sure how easy it is to get cable to the engine bay from that position.
Already have an opening behind the glove box which I can use.
But no idea if it's at least doable to go from the left side to the right side of the vehicle.

I saw some comments about the dash vent pod for the A3/S3...

This guy 3D prints them for the S4. Single and dual...

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I can not stress this enough.
These guages do not work as intended!!
I'll share my experience, first of all I bought a single guage due to the fact they had no ethanol readers in stock plus a dual pod. I received a single guage and a single pod which I got to send back and received my original order of a dual pod. In the meantime they re stocked the ethanol readers and I ordered a second guage and a cable to power both. I installed everything to find one guage didn't work and just displayed lines down the screen so I wrote to them to let them know and instead of sending a new guage that works they wanted me to send the broken one back on my dollar so they can try to fix it knowing i just bought them. I bought another guage since I don't have the time to ship things back and forth on my dollar so they can fix their issues and planned to ship back later but needed working guages now. I received the new guage re installed everything plugged in the guages and they both turn on and off constantly while driving. I wrote to them to find out the guages won't work as a pair and I need to uninstall everything and send them both back so they can be programed to work together on my dollar and wait for them to get fixed before installing again for a 3rd time.
I live in Canada so I'm expected to pay for shipping and duty to receive the items working or not working then expected to ship back again paying for shipping and duty to get them to work, I will then have to pay shipping and duty to have them shipped back to me. I will then have to install everything yet again and hope everything works as it should have when it originally left Aeroforce.
This company is a complete disaster and has the biggest revolving door known to man since everything that leaves there needs to be sent right back so they can figure out why it doesn't work.
SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND EFFORT BY JUST BUYING GUAGES FROM A REPUTABLE COMPANY THAT STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS!!
Unless you enjoy installing and uninstalling shipping guages back and forth until your purple then this company is perfect for you.
Just to show how fuct this company is, when you do buy a dual guage set up they send you a cable to power up a single guage not a cable to power 2 guages and they will not work as a pair unless you specifically ask. Even then I wouldn't count on it.
AGAIN PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY, JUST STAY AWAY FROM AEROFORCE GUAGES.
