A couple more just to show you the difference in travel that a camber plate makes:

So some stuff I've learned that might benefit others.

For the KW clubsports, Verkline's price crushes everyone else's, so I asked some questions. A north american distributor was quick to bad-mouth verkline, claiming mostly "no warranty service." I verified that, somewhat ironically based on that vendor's suggestion to call KW. An American customer buying through a European distributor can't expect warranty service. I don't completely understand why, but that's pretty much from the horse's mouth.

However, what I also figured out is that Clubsports don't have a warranty regardless of where/how purchased. However, Verkline indicated they offer a "limited 1-year warranty" and sell enough that they get help from KW. To me that meant if I want to go KW clubsport, I might as well save upfront (more than $1k) with Verkline...no warranty regardless of distributor and Verkline has at least documented some intent/commitment to support.

    Ordered and fingers crossed!

Bravo for taking the plunge. I boxed up my Ohlins and put them on the Fedex truck this morning. I will be providing additional R&D for the JRI solution but that doesn't mean I'm 100% going to purchase them. You absolutely need to let us know how long it takes to get the Clubsports and absolutely do an unboxing video... ha ha kidding about that but certainly need a full review on here.

Wow, great information and write up and thanks for all of the info! Just curious has anyone tried the super pro LCA’s? I ordered a set hoping it’s not a waste of time/money.

Update from me... I puchased the Ground Control coilover kit. These work with stock Magride shocks as well as any collared aftermarket coilovers. I am planning to use these with JRI coilovers but it's nice to have the option to run them on stock hardware as well.

Will the JRI coilovers be offered on their site? Ordered a TTRS so will be looking for a new setup when it arrives. It doesn't look like Ohlins is going to end up updating their kit.

I do believe once the production specs are finalized they will be able to be ordered via phone conversation. Ultimate Performance and the JRI solution is more of a premium solution than something like Ohlins.

That being said now that we figured out what parts work with the Ohlins and how to make them work better I wouldn't be afraid to use them. They just require some fairly simple modifications to get max suspension travel.

Any chance you have pictures from when you first installed them?

I'm still waiting on the modified shock bodies for the JRI shocks. They should be here any day. Which is no problem because I didn't get around to opening up the shock tower till today.

The modifications to the JRI will be similar to how you fix the Ohlins by getting them to sit deeper in the spindle ... with a twist... JRI is moving the clamping "sleeve" up on the shock body to allow the shock to sit lower in the spindle improving travel.

If you are asking for pictures of the Ohlins I have stock pile of those. What are you looking to see?

Yeah, if you have pictures of the ohlins when you couldn't get them low enough that would be great. Just curious on how low they went. I'll probably be deciding between another set of JRZ, Ohlins, or the JRI, but it sounds like the JRI might be more than what I'd need. Still happy with how the JRZ run on the RS3, but always interested in trying something different.

I had the wrong camber plates which was 70% of the issue with my Ohlins. This picture was taken after all of the shocks were lowered to the maximum. If I had swapped camber plates, ran a 7" spring in the back and modified the front shocks they likely would have been absolutely perfect. There was just no way to know for sure. Keep in mind at this ride height the front shocks would still bottom out hard enough to damage the Vorshlag camber plates.

Also worth mentioning.... I did use a 2" knockout punch to open up my shock towers to make room for the GC camber plates and top nut. The process was very simple and took less then 5 minutes per side (once the shocks were removed). Some light sanding, primer, followed by a hit of white paint and this will look factory again.

The 034 plates are very good for street driving. The only risk is if you hit something hard enough to stretch the rubber puck inside the plate. If you do that the shaft will make contact with the tower as shown HERE.

I don’t have the strut tower hole-punched but it is notched with the same GC camber plate and works well. Adjust rebound of my MCS 2 way remote dampers through the hole pictured.

Very functional. Why didn't you used the horseshoe rings over the tower?

A wealth of info in this thread, thanks for sharing Jeff!

I'm maybe leaning towards the fixed 034 camber plates so I don't have to worry about screwing something up! Is that the wrong approach? I figure I won't be adjusting it, just want the increased negative camber for better steering turn-in & handling.

Those are an excellent choice and perhaps the cleanest installing part available.

So My KW Clubsports should finally actually be here on Monday.

They shipped from Verkline like 2 weeks ago. Got to the US and sat in Philly for a while...I figured it was customs stuff, extra precautions for int'l, whatever. After they sat there for a week, I got in touch with UPS. Turns out they needed me to pay tax on them. That got done yesterday and they appear to be in a warehouse nearby now.

Great news! Please let us know how much you like them, but keep safe with everything that is going around now.

Did you ordered them from Europe because they had a better price or the US KW’s Dealeres don’t have them?

They're made to order. No one stocks them.

I ordered through Verkline because they were significantly cheaper through them and I could find zero downside from ordering through them.

That’s great and that’s what I wanted to know for when it comes the time for me to order a set. If you don’t mind letting us know, did you have to pay much taxes to import them?

Please take pics of your KW CSs especially when you are doing the install. I'd like to see the front KW strut laying next to the OEM magride strut.

You want to see it KW really made a development for the TT RS or if they’re using the RS-3 coilover set they have and made only some tweaks?

It's more of a curiosity thing. Like did they change the mount point for the endlinks and what is the spring length they decided to go with.

I didn't really do anything with them until today. I was working on installing an intercooler (Unitronic). Got that finished yesterday.

Today, I got the rear all taken apart. Installing SPC adjustable arms along with the KW's. I have everything loosely in place on the passenger rear. Should be able to finish up the rear tomorrow and maybe get started on the front.

Got everything buttoned for the rear suspension this afternoon. Successful quick test drive found no strange noises or behavior. Pleasantly surprised at how compliant the ride was...I could feel the extra stiffness, but nothing bothersome at all. All the shock settings were pretty much in the middle of the range.

Might get started on the fronts tonight...we'll see. Looks like I need to run out and get a wiper arm puller to really get started.

ok, now that I'm getting into the job of swapping the fronts, the first page of this thread is making a lot more sense than it did before :-)

I think the issue with the KW camber plates may be that they're difficult-to-impossible to adjust without enlarging the center hole of the strut tower...not legal for ST class autox :(
