Cold start - 5500 RPM warning and beep

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm assuming this is normal? After I drive a bit, the red line of the tach raises to it's normal value. If I restart the car, I don't get this warning. (I'm of the mindset not to push it until the oil gets to 180F anyway, which is long after the red lime raises)

Is there a way to disable the beep or visual warning or both? It's starting to get annoying to hear the beep and see the warning EVERY time I start the car in the morning!

Normal. Limits the RPM initially when cold.

I'm OK with the warning but I'd really prefer not to hear the beep. Any way of killing the beep at least?

If this was a fleet vehicle, with a bunch of different drivers, I'd understand, but it's becoming serious overkill to get it many times within the same day.

completely agree; it's insane that the loudest warning the car makes is one for an RPM limit that can't be ignored/bypassed. my SQ5 makes no noise whatsoever, the virtual dash just shows a limited redline. anyone figure out how to silence it?

I have the same complaint, I have vcds, let me see if I can find where it is I’m assuming it’s in the Instruments module or maybe the ecu? Hopefully we can deselect/make inactive like the stupid seatbelt warning.

No warning or beep here, just the 5500 rpm indication on the screen. (Different depending on where you live perhaps? I'm in Sweden.)

I get the warning message and the "!" indicator too but now that I think of it, the beeping hasn't been consistent. Maybe it's lower temps or when you haven't driven it in a few days? (Or if you're with a Scandinavian?)

I need try to remove that beep... lol
It appears that I can remove the RPM warning from the cluster but still keep the RPM limiter which is oil temp dependent.

On my TTRS I never had any beeps from the factory. After upgrading to UNI I only received one when running stage 2 93 map as the warning features were ported over from the RS3 tune. My E85 maps do not have the same alerts. All apparently managed in the ECU tune.
