Any advice on how to have the front bumper seat closer to flush? My OCD is killing me. Thanks in advance and happy new year

Had the same issue with mine. The bumper wasn't seated correctly on the mounting point. Try manipulating it with your hands, then remove the wheel and just poke around until it's fixed. That's what I did at least lol.

That looks like it isn’t seated correctly like stated above. If the bumper is coming off anyway I’d buy new bumper bracket/clips and new hardware, all of that can be had off of ECS for under $100

Cut the zip ties that are holding it and mount it correctly.

I think it's to the point where I need new hardware, brackets and clips.

    No zip-ties here!

my bracket/clips and hardware seemed fine the last time I had my front end off but my bumper still does not sit properly, is it possible the fender is bent or not aligned properly and is causing this or is it for sure just worn bracket? Perhaps the receiving part of the bumper is also messed up?

It's a tricky process. Hard to figure it out. Make sure you loosen the 2 6mm Allen's before moving it. Makes it easier

You are talking about the 2 long ones on the underside that secure the bumper to the bumper shocks?

theres a post somewhere on quattroworld or somewhere in which the the metal where the brackets attach get pulled out over time and use. As a result, the bumper regardless of new hardware will stick out like yours. Remedy is to remove hardware and gently hammer/mallet the metal back in towards the engine. Reinstall the hardware and see where you gap sits at that point.

too many dipshit mechanics just yank the things off and end up pulling the fenders out. like the previous poster said. The metal needs to get bent back in.

Absolutely and they get messed up from getting removed incorrectly over the years.

My fenders were bent up from my SMIC and last time I had front end off I bent the fenders back but I went too far/wrong way and kinda made it worse..😔🙄. Plan on revisiting that next time I have it apart but hoping that’s not time soon. Lol

When I was having issues with this I had started by replacing those bumper guides that attach to the fender, and was still having the bumper pop off the clip. Then, I replaced the bumper itself thinking maybe the clips on the bumper side were worn from the years of removing it - and still had the issue. Not until I sat down one day and removed the wheel liner and really made sure it was fully seating on that guide did I get the bumper to fully clip on. So my suggestion is if you do what others say and rubber mallet your fenders back into shape a bit, replace those guides and are still struggling - do yourself a favor and take the time to look at the problem up close. The whole time I believe what was happening was I wasn't fully getting the bumper to engage on that clip. I couldn't see that until I had that fender liner out of the way...
