Swapped in D4 A8 seats, how get car to recognize the passenger occupancy sensor?

I swapped in the front seats out of a 2013 A8 with the multicontour seats and have the airbag light on. It's not recognizing the passenger seat occupancy sensor and I don't know how to fix it. I still have my oem seat occupancy sensor module but don't know if it's possible to swap since the new seats don't appear to use the same type of system.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm actually in the same boat. Got A8 seats with massage and heating. My original did not have all the functions, 4 pins on the older seats. I think I counted 15 on the A8 seats. When I got the A8 seats in, my airbag light also was turned on

I'm assuming we have to connect all of the wires then remove component protection

Assuming they will work you need the factory scan tool to code them.

What about taking the sensor out of the old seat and mounting it in the new seat?

I don't think component protection has anything to do with it, could be wrong, but the car is simply not locating the seat occupancy sensor (even though it detects the airbag it's self just fine). I think I just need to tell the car that the occupancy sensor is "different" but when I go to change the coding in the airbag module it has no instructions or labels like some of the other modules so I don't know what to look for (or what to change).

I tried that but it looks like the new seats uses a completely different system and I can't swap it out.

Component protection and programing has everything to do with it if you're wired correctly. Unless you have ODIS you can't do what you're trying to do.

Good luck with it all. It's been tried several times with limited success as far as I know. It took me 3 years of messing around with getting my airbag light and occupancy sensor sorted out. And this was going from Standard seats to S Sport seats. I have an A8L with those amazing contour, massaging, "talk to me seats." They are great, but swapping them into the C7 might be a fools errand.

Anyone try one of those Chinese ODIS replica scanners? I have one for Mercedes (STAR Diagnosis) and it's flat out amazing, literally does just about everything the oem one does, casue it's a copy of the oem one. I wonder if the ODIS equivalent is just as good.
