    Condensation in headlight

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Back in August when I first got my car, after give the engine bay and good cleaning I noticed I had a small amount of condensation in the right headlight, just figured it was from the cleaning of the bay. A day in the sun and it was gone.

It’s been raining a lot this week in Maine and I noticed a little more condensation. No visible cracks on the outside and wondering if anyone else has had an issue with water in their headlights?

    Thanks. IMG_2460.JPG

Please look up my topic (will link later on....on phone atm).
99% sure it is the plastic cover plate at the backside (engine bay). I had to replace on both sides. It has 4 plastic tabs that tend to brake off due to heat and/or vibrition cause multiple cracks in the waterproof cover. Around 10€ at the dealer.
Helped a few in that way and it was fixed after replacing (one of those hidden "service" items apperently :p ).
Ps: s6 c7 here so not sure if other partnumber but let dealer check tye correct one...well first open one to verify...and replace left and right ;) .

This is normal to an extent if there is a temperature difference on the inside of the light vs the outside, a small amount of condensation will form. (Keep in mind that these lights generate a lot of heat) There is a vent tube on each light to help dissipate this, and it should never get to the point where standing water actually collects in the light.

Between 2 A4s an A7 and 2 BMWs my family has had, all of them have done this

I've had that problem too. I've replaced the vent adapters, which I think was the problem on mine. Not making a good connection, so too much condensation builds up. Had to replace a couple of LED modules.

What color is your car? It's beautiful
