    Yes small gap at the top of the windshield where the glass ends.

    I initially thought it was the sunroof drains so I used a borescope to look for the leak and I just couldn't find one. Even after flooding the roof with a garden hose but water was still getting in. On a whim I decided to try to seal the windshield and it completely fixed it.

    I use this stuff. Basically I just filled that little gap at the top of the windshield and took my time to smooth it out with my finger like you do caulk. It turned out great, looks like it's supposed to be that way.

    My kids are growing up too fast and I just don’t have time to work on and daily this car. I've purchased a new daily driver and bought and a sprinter RV to do some van life trips before they age out and become teens that hate me. The RV has become my passion project and is eating up what little free time I have so its time my Avant finds a new home. Dabbled with the thought of selling before but at this point I'm no longer driving her other then for weekend pleasure and the decision to sell has been made.

    Putting it out there just in the Avant forum for now as an FYI to see if there is a DIYer who wants to buy her as-is. She needs some bodywork (have the big parts to a 8.5 front end; ecodes, bumper, black optics grille) and a few mechanical (AC, passenger ebrake caliper error). Mechanically I'd road trip her tomorrow as I've gone through the motor/serviced the DSG/SC etc. but she needs some TLC for sure. With that said she's a unicorn and one of the few swaps that have a fully functional sport diff; so while I want to be upfront that she needs some work, most of the hard stuff has been done and she also is an extremely rare car that is complemented by some extremely nice OEM+ and aftermarket additions (not to mention all the cool parts I never found the time to install). Definitely has her strengths and weaknesses.

    Only big FYI is no emissions in Washington state so test pipes and no secondary air (tune codes out the CEL); probably the biggest deal breaker for people in states like California so please take note. If this doesn't lead anywhere I'll finish her off and give her a proper for-sale add and likely look at BaT or Cars and Bids. Lots of work that I'd like to direct elsewhere tbh and it would be nice to see her story continue here with another enthusiast if possible so let me know if you're interested.

    Seems like most of the S4 Avant swaps do B8.5 front ends. Yours stands out because you stayed with the B8 front clip. Not that it's my decision, but that's one big reason I like your car. The B8 front end is aging well, in my opinion.

    I really appreciate that, and do feel the same way. Had been kicking around the idea of face lifting, but you do bring up a great point, thanks for that

    A few good leads/conversations but no sale. Havent been actively selling yet just put out feelers.

    I bought a 2013 8.5 doner which will be delivered in a few weeks from California then Ill strip front end. Once shes sorted Ill post a proper for sale ad.

    Still a few weeks to make a deal if someone wants a healthy save me the hassle discount. Obviously both cars would go.

    Shipper "broke his back" and couldnt do the pickup/delivery. Every other quoute from a legitimare shipper was out to lunch.

    Flew out of pdx at 520 am friday morning. Picked car up at 11am just outside LA. Drove 1100 miles and got home at 5am Saturday morning.

    Been a bit, quick update. Thought I could/was ready to move on a few years ago but easier said then done. Did the front 8.5 conversion and fixed all of the little things and Im as love as ever. Summer cruises have been great and highway onramps are still an opportunity.

    Getting a full detail right know from a buddy who used to build show cars for SEMA. His process is over the top and exactly what she deserves. Wife says its time to move on. She may be right, but Im uncertain. Really not sure how people chew through cars, Im way too emotionally invested.
