    Brake Job Order of Operations

    So my car needs rear brakes, and I generally do brakes myself, so this time won't be any different. However, I am going to swap all of the lines for SS lines and do a brake fluid flush at the same time. My question comes down to in what order do I do things? Do I swap the pads and rotors first, then the brake lines? Brake lines first? Does it matter? My concern would be if I swap the lines first, I'll end up pushing air from the new lines up through the system as I compress the piston. Not sure it would get far enough up into the system to matter, but in case it did..... For the fronts it doesn't matter, since I'll only be swapping the lines for now.

    Thoughts?

    Whichever you do first, might was well compress the piston all the way to start. Personally I'd do the pads/rotors first then the lines but I don't think it really matters, your going to have to bleed everything anyway, might just save yourself a little fluid with one approach over the other.

    Agree, just do brake pads and rotors first, much easier to work with IMHO and less mess, then change lines and bleed it all out. Otherwise if you just disconnect them, you'll have brake fluid dripping out of the lines and have to make sure you don't let Master cylinder get too low.

    Pads + Rotors first, so there's less mess. Make sure to suck out the old fluid from reservoir when pushing the piston. Then fill to full line and swap the lines. Do whatever it makes sense to lose least amount of fluid while swapping out the lines.
