so I received my rs3 friday the 20th (2018, with 5400 miles). The previous owner had removed the rear "rs3" badge, IMO the rs3 shouldn't have it's badges removed. other than the wheels and front grill, there's no other way to differentiate it from an s3 or a3. i've actually ordered a new rs3 rear badge to be able to replace it

lmao. anyone who cares about an a3, s3, or rs3 can very easily differentiate an rs3 from the other two.

Yes, with heat gun and fishing wire. Its easy, but takes a while.

Replaced mine with Black OEM rings and RS3 Emblem.

Were you able to get the rear ring to sit flush with the curve in the trunk? How far above the trunk lip did you position the badge?

Mine does sit flush yes, Id have to measure it to tell you how far up it sits,

Before I took the original rings off I made a very elaborate tape template which allowed me to put the rings back exactly, it actually took longer to do that than removing the rings themselves.

Do you know if there is a top and bottom for the rear rings? I saw a post saying there was a slight curve to one of the sides.

When I re-badged I used the outline from the adhesive on the original silver rings (which was still somewhat visible) as my template, but it's still not sitting quite as flush.
