    Lowest Offset Possible??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey everyone ... looking to put on a set of aftermarket wheels on my B9 RS5 and I like the look of a deep concave wheel. I’m curios who has done the same and how low of an offset you’ve run with no issues. Obviously with this setup, I ultimately trying to obtain as low as possible in the rear and more positive in the front. Your thoughts?

@jimminez@nemesis has the B9 RS5 fitment on lock.

    20x10 ET18 is quite solid.

I'm in Wilkes - not too far from you. Let's wait to hear back from Martin.

This depends on what width of wheel you want, which size of tire you plan on running, and if you plan on lowering your car at all.

If you answer those, I can help with determining offsets.

Maintaining some meat on the tires, 285/30R20 on 20x10.5" ET23 works well with no rubbing and can get a good profile.
More is always possible but you start loosing sidewall profile.

With this setup can you lower the RS5 on H&R springs as well with no rubbing? Looking to get an RS5 this weekend and wondering what wheel and tire options would be. 2nd question, I see most people get the full coiloverr setup but I would like to maintain the factory dampening, can I retain that with just lowering springs?

    Thanks,

    Jesse

I see most going with springs, either H&R VRT or ABT HAS. That keeps the function of the DRC. I run ABT and love them.

That exact set up is used on Sportback with ABT springs with no issues.

Can do BBS CH-R in 20x10.5" ET25 with 285 and be money. That's an easy path.
Can do custom wheels like BC Forged, HRE, Vossen is you'd like.

Thanks for the speedy response. Maybe we can work something out when I get my car. Would want to do wheels, springs, and intake. 1 last question, I saw your partnership with that carbon company, (super cool) I saw that you said you had 1 set of carbon seat backs available. Is that the whole back of both front seats in carbon for $1,200 if my memory serves me correct? That seems like an awesome deal. Maybe its for something else and Im confused.

Can we run 20x10.5's with ET25, 285/30-20's, lowered 1" on H&R VTF's with 10 or 12mm spacers with no rub or issues? If so can we get a little more aggressive on either of those items?

    Here when you're ready.

You wouldn't be able to run spacers with that wheel and tire combo and be lowered and have no rubbing. Maybe around ~5-8mm to be rub free at most.

Sweet, so I wasn't crazy. Adding these to the list as well. I just need my Panamera to come back as a total loss today, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

Yeah everyone is ok, so that is all that matters, but it has been somewhat of a disaster so far dealing with all of this. Before and after.

    Sorry to thread jack OP!!

I ended up going with BBS CH-R et 18. I have 034 springs that lowered the car a little, and haven't had any issues with rubbing at all.

    BP,
Martin has the specs nailed on the tires, and i went with et18 b/c i didn't want to run spacers. Wheels are 10" wide.

Thanks Martin, i almost didn't post b/c it is a bit of a dagger for all the help you provided.

Would 12mm be too wide of a spacer on the stock trapezoid wheel on the RS5 without sticking out?

    I'm running 20x10.5 et25 with 5mm/7mm spacers, so effectively et20 / et18. 285/30 tires.
No rubbing at all. i can probably go 1-2mm more.

You could but might stick out past front fender. Best to do 12 front and 15 rear.
Someone has done 15/20mm. Just a matter of what look you want.

Awesome man thank you so much! Sorry to thread jack!

    Last question!

With 12 front and 15 rear, how long ball seat bolts should I get? 40/43mm respectively?
