How to prevent driver's seat from moving backwards when door is opened

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Quick question for the smart people here: my driver's seat in my RS7 tends to move backwards when I open the door. This is a problem because I have a rear facing child seat behind it so the child seat then rubs on the rear of the driver's seat which in turn might eventually leave a mark. I can't have that on these beautiful seats. So the question I have is, how can this be avoided?

I have tried everything that I can think of. Comfort access is off (although I have read that just affects the steering wheel anyway and have set both keys and both memory settings on the door to the same position that is well clear of the car seat. Yet, still the driver's seat will often move backwards on its own, contacting that rear car seat. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

its called "easy entry" or somthing along those lines.

go through the MMI, should be a setting.

In the MMI, go into "car systems", then go to "vehicle settings", then go to "seats", then go to "driver's seat", then go to "easy seat entry".

Sorry, I meant Easy Entry when I said Comfort Access, I believe that is what Tesla calls it. Got mixed up between my cars. I thought Easy Entry only affected the steering wheel. So it moves the seat backwards as well?

Funny my S6 doesn't do this it only moves the wheel up. Is there a way to activate this feature on the s6?

    The seat shouldn’t move back.

ive come to the conclusion that only my steering wheel moves automatically.

keep in mind, the keys are linked to the saved seat positon. the seat is moving to the programmed position for the key youre using at that time. if youre not consitantly using the same key, this may seem likes it moving for "easy entry", but its actually moving because of the seat/key programming

I thought about that and programmed both keys to the same position to take that variable out of the equation. So far, after turning easy entry off, the seat has not moved backward.

I had same issue when I bought my RS7 seat would keep going back. I disabled that MMI Easy Entry. It still did it. Then I left it all alone, closed the doors, locked it, and then tried to re-enter car again. Seat has stopped moving. I tend to find the European cars are always fickle sometimes with their electronics. Seemed like it needed a "re-cycle" of the lock/unlock for it to take effect.

Interesting. In the US, only the steering wheel moves up...nothing else. The only two options I can think of it was changed with something like VAG-COM (or similar) or it's actually the programmable key, not the easy entry option. You shouldn't be getting the seat moving back on a stock US spec car.
