Production version RS6 Avant will be at the Sphere later this month. After the Frankfurt show, online configuration will go live after the show. There is a pre-production version on the premises of MUC but only accessible by Audi employees. They wouldn’t accept my application for the hour

agreed. at a straight conversion, that would put the base us price at ~$129k, USD...which is $20k MORE than the AMG Merc. At that price point, they'll find it hard to sell many. Not that it is going to be a high volume mover anyways, but if it comes over at that base price, it's going to scare away even some excited buyers because i have to imagine the price will jump quickly with options...

Yeah I agree. I was thinking I could get mine with just basic options for that price. Black optics w 22’s and maybe B+O. If base price is that much I may have to reconsider or consider donating a kidney 🤔.

I too was surprised by the base price announcement and I figured anytime I contemplated even considering changing my mind this 47 seconds of RS bliss quickly got me back on track while enjoying my sack lunch during me donating every possible fluid weekly...

This adjusts to £107K GBP + options here in the UK. Previous RS6 Performance was 87K GBP + options. Bit of a Spicy increase that.

Will be interested to see how much the Electric Porsche Taycan is when it is officially announced tomorrow.

I tend to agree that it's not going to be a direct price exchange - rare if ever does that occur - but was curious of the price conversion anyways, haha

I took a peek at the German Audi site to look at pricing compared to the US msrp. A few examples:

- German EUR / USD Msrp basr
+ TT RS €67, 700 / $66,900
+ RS3 SB €56,000 / $56,200 (OK, they don't sell the RS3 sportback here, but I needed a comparison to the sedan)
+ R8 €166,000 / $169,900

None are direct conversions. There's also no clear pattern. Take-away: we can speculate all we want, but we won't know for sure until Audi speaks.

VAG prices their cars based on individual country market analyses, they don't make a worldwide MSRP and then calculate an individual country's MSRP based on currency exchange rates, so don't bother projecting MSRP for the USA based on that for other countries, as enumerated in the above posts.

That would put the price higher than the RS7 MSRP, which started at $114k I thought? I always presumed the RS6 started lower than the RS7?

The MSRP of the C8 RS7 would have to rise over $15k to maintain the same precedent. The C7 to C8 S7 MSRP went up $2k.

I think that I do not want to have to worry about charging (reallywaiting for recharging) when I take a trip greater than 300 miles. I just drove up to Minneapolis two weeks ago, I would have had to stop for an extra 2 hours to get a charge to get up there. Then would have to figure where I can charge it when I get there, assuming my hotel doesnt have one.

I will take my ICE until we have extended batteries and much faster chargers.

More than that I would think. My RS7 with stage 1 is 672 hp and 700 Tq on 93. This motor has to make more than 630 tq. I think they will square more than 700 out of a tune as well with all this horsepower war that’s going on right now. It’s only another 28 more and I bet the new RS6 numbers are slightly lower from the factory. Just my 2 cents or could be biased wishful thinking 😬

I was browsing the M5 forums and I know BMW's offer inflated residuals and other factors that make their leases very attractive, but you can lease a 2020 M5 Comp for $1,286 a month with $4k at delivery.

I was looking at a fully loaded E-tron and that was 1414$ for 10k miles with tax rebate and 6k trade in. And I think the S7 is pricier?

I don't think the cars are really comparable though. The RS6 would be replacing my SUV right now.
