My dealer didn't take a deposit. They're keeping a list and won't take a deposit until I actually order a car / they have a confirmed understanding of allocation process... So sounds like a similar approach.

LOL. I found the only quiet time I had was during dumps. That’s when I had a BlackBerry Pearl so only brick builder was available. Now the possibilities are endless. Even replying to forum posts

Mine said the same thing. Might be an online reservation process. They hope to know more from Audi mid-Sept about process and timelines.

How did the online etron ordering work? First come first served?

Hopefully it wasn't like buying concert tickets - hitting "refresh" constantly with the hopes of buying some only to realize a Russian or Chinese bot got them all as soon as they were available and are now for sale at ONLY 2x the price on a resale site...

I was at my dealer today and they speculated that this particular launch most likely wouldn’t immulate the E Tron process.

Found out today they wont do the Green I planned on going with. Not sure I want to stick to the green now as I will always feel that I settled, albeit, for a nice other color, It just wouldnt be the same.

I was going to order a Purple TTRS before the R8 I ended up getting, so I may go back that direction now...

Through the Audi Exclusive program. There are 82 predetermined colors plus the potential for nearly any water based paint, especially from the VW Group.

Are the colors staying the same for 2020 that are currently posted for MY2019?

My dealer is saying "There will be a Market Adjustment and increase to the Vehicle Price when first released." aka there will be a markup over msrp!

Anyone else get that? They also said there are 5 or 6 in line already with $2k deposits.

Let the suckers pay a premium. Wait out the dealer, there is a miniscule market for 150k wagons.

Agree. Unless you absolutely must have this immediately and/or just have money to burn, that markup likely won’t last long after the initial rush.

I see you're in San Francisco, the mark-up game in California is atrocious. I get that there are a lot of people there making good money, so the demand is there, but the level of greed I've heard some of the dealers have, is amazing.

Just to clarify, I'm not speaking about the RS6 specifically, but really any hot car that's new to market. I get this isn't purely a California thing, but dealers there certainly seem to be steep and chronic over-msrp-chargers!

Agreed. I just bought an RS5 sportback from a different dealer too so we'll see what happens. I'm definitely not paying anything over msrp.

RS5 Sportback is my current DD. It's a really good car at doing just about everything. Ironically, one of the reasons I bought it was because it was the closest thing I could get to the usability of a wagon and the presence of RS performance, because, at the time, I figured there was no way Audi would bring the car I REALLY wanted to the US!

Agreed!! After about 5 cars and SUVs all in black I just can't do it anymore. All the time spent cleaning and detailing - then the very next day (always parked in the garage) I get in and you can see a thin layer of dust already! UGH! And not forgiving at all.

Got a call from my rover dealer yesterday that they had a estoril blue/ cirrus int rrs SVR in. This was the car I wanted so badly before I heard the RS6 Avant was coming stateside. Of course I Made the mistake of driving up to “take a look”. Then the decision came and I just told the dealer I am going to wait about a year for the rs6. He actually sold me my RS7 last year. Someone traded one in at the rover dealership. I told his this was the same but a wagon version and the newer model. He looked perplexed but I told him every day when I drive my rs7 I have a smile on my face. My wife drives the 2016 SVR and although it’s a nice vehicle it only puts a smile on my face when the exhaust flaps are open and I hear those crackles. I came home and put the RS6 as my screensaver so I can look at it daily and remind myself that the long anticipated wait will be well worth it.

The markup game is part of the process here in Cali - unless one has a good out of state dealer who sends you MSRP cars.

That said, I've bought a lot of special market cars (see sig below) and I've found building a really good relationship with a dealership helps out a lot...

You have to understand the following things to get these types of cars in CA at MSRP or near MSRP:
    1) Sell your cars back through them - they make money on those cars and it builds good will
    2) The more regular cars they sell (A6, A4 etc) the more special cars they get allocated... they often don't make much from those cars - so if you can direct friends/family or you can buy them yourself from them... you'll a higher chance of getting a great allocation
    3) Some dealers just suck and don't reward good buyers... but many do, even the ones people think suck.
    4) I can't stress enough... build that relationship. Referrals, service, IG mentions, etc. It all helps.

This is how I was one of the first in SF to get a McLaren 675LT when it was announced.

In an ideal world, we get cars at MSRP or below. But I'm a realist and I like theese cars. That said, I've rarely paid ADM... and when I did, it was very very low.

Just to clarify, I'm not speaking about the RS6 specifically, but really any hot car that's new to market. I get this isn't purely a California thing, but dealers there certainly seem to be steep and chronic over-msrp-chargers!

I know a few which don’t over-MSRP. Not many though.

Those are the same headlights that come on lower end A7 trims in certain world markets. Basic LED headlights, no matrix. That's curious Audi would use those on an RS, unless this particular vehicle was one of the pre-production test cars.

"The optional swiveling trailer towing hitch features an electric release function."

Really interested in how this looks/works. Anyone seen this in action on another one of their vehicles? I wonder if it's in the middle of valence or if it drops down?
