Honestly, if it's a completely custom order car, there would be no reason to limit supply. Maybe only 500 are ordered. But if 600 were ordered and paid for, Audi would be insane not to deliver 600 cars.
When the rs6 was announced, I immediately called the local dealer and put a deposit down. i was told I'm number 2. I texted with the sales guy the other day and he said they are only getting 2 and others are on the list. So.. who knows.

first post in 4 years! finally coming back to Audi (S7 previous then 3rd kid came :/)

I'd love to have an economics discussion about all of it... But yes, not the point here. I'll say this - I'd actually disagree and say the RS is a low volume, high margin vehicle for them. Shared chassis, engines, etc between models means a decent economy of scale across the development. They get the premium on the RS by adding bells and whistles, the name and gobs of power.

There was a very interesting article in The Economist this week looking at VAG financials, actually. They focused mostly on Porsche - tiny volume but ridiculously high margins, driving a lot of total VAG profit. Porsche benefits significantly from the shared development of platforms and then slapping their logo on it. Audi sees a bunch of this benefit as well, though not to the same extent.

Anyways, let's get back to talking about different colors for the cars and which options make the most sense, hahahaha

    Nardo
22" (prob titanium but maybe black)
    Dynamic (maybe)
    Sport suspension
    Sport exhaust
    Carbon optics
    Panoramic
    Cognac leather/sport seats
    Assistance w/ HUD

Depending on how they package things & other audi exclusive stuff, possibly some other bells/whistles but I think that's it.

The German packaging is putting the sport diff and all wheel steering into the Dynamic package.

I’m also heavily leaning toward coil suspension over air.

    Glacier White
    Brushed Alu (not black optic)
    22” gray wheels
    Dynamic (177mph)
    Coil suspension
    Comfort seats
    HD Laser headlights
    Full assistance+HUD (however packaged)

If the US has the option to drop the sunroof I would, but pretty much every Audi has it for the market so it’s probably not an option.

    Thoughts as of right now...

    - Daytona Grey Pearl
    - Black optics with silver rings
    - Debadged (if a US option)
    - Dynamic (sport diff + steering)
    - Air suspension
    - 21s (will get something forged for summer)
    - Sport exhaust
    - Pano roof
    - Full tech and safety
    - Sports seats, black on black (still debating about comfort seats. Ideally I'd have a sport seat for driver and a comfort seat for passenger to reduce complaints from my wife)

Obviously all of this depends on how the US options are packaged compared to how it's grouped on the German site today...

Sunroof delete would be great. I use my sunroof maybe twice a year, and that’s only to let a bug out.

Has anyone seen the Sebring black crystal? It’s not until the Audi Exclusive portfolio.

I’m highly tempted by the Daytona matte.

I've long thought Sport driver/comfort passenger would be an amazing option.

I'm very cool on any of the blacks - its simply too dusty around here to bother with the upkeep. I don't mind some interesting greys though.

Sat in the new RS6 yesterday

I sat in the new RS6 Avant yesterday at the Munich Airport showroom. They had a bright red one that was completely kitted out with pretty much everything, including carbon ceramics, Performance Plus package, etc. I will upload some images of the car. I currently am in first position for a car here in Boulder and was super excited to see the car in person. I wasn't expecting they would have one there to see. The car feels smaller than the 6 series I remembered. The interior is amazing with the steering wheel having the perfect feel. The dash and electronics are amazing and cant wait to see some driving videos of it. I will also add that the front end/headlights are awesome.

Price was 169,000 euro's which included the 19% German tax. Base price was 117,000 euros.

From speaking with Audi in Germany, they wont even see the cars until earliest January 2020, and that sounded iffy at best. I would think March time frame for the US.

What part of the Munich airport? Might be flying through in November, would love to check it out. Last time through they had a Panamera outside of duty free if I remember correctly but this looks like a different area.

It is on the check-in floor. If you walk outside the main building of the Joseph-Strauss airport, you will see the huge Audi rings. Cant miss it. I always stop in there to see what they have. Before the RS6 was the RS4, which was just as good. They do change out the cars so not sure what will be in there in November but I am sure there will be at least one of the Electric cars.

The guy at Audi mySphere said they’d have it. Not sure if that’s where it was seen or not. It’s right above the Airbrau restaurant.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and they said at the end of the month they’d have one.

Dyslexia is a bitch. myAudi Sphere not Audi mySphere.

I really want to see what 5 matte colors are available. I am surprised they aren't on the German configurator given they announced they would be made.

I'm thinking about nogaro blue with BO...

Maybe I'm the only one that cannot decide between the RS6 and the RS7? I'm number two on the list at my dealer for the RS6 and number one for the RS7.

FWIW, This is a pretty cool taillight show on the RS7.

Always cool cars at that Audi Sphere in Munich. This g-tron was there last time I was through there. They'll also rent you just about any Audi you want right there and you can take it straight to the autobhan. Can't wait to see if they rent RS6s.

I have thought the same thing but I keep coming back to the RS6 Avant. More unique, more utility, and a more subtle cool. I have a 17 C63s Coupe as well that I will be getting rid of for the RS6.

FWIW, This is a pretty cool taillight show on the RS7.

It’s a party out in the back!

Oh man, that RS6 has carbon fiber optics on it. That looks amazing.

Got an email from my dealer after I checked for an update. The 2020 order guide for other models was updated last week, but still nothing for RS6 Avant.
