B9 A4 Brake Job Cost

I went for the 50k Service last week.
They change the Oil.
They told me Brakes are still good.
Front pads = 7mm
Rear pads = 8mm

They told me front will cost 800-900 and rear will cost 700-800 once they need to be replaced.

Dealer prices, A really good indy, even an expensive one, may halve that, and if you do it, save much more. Timing chain, stay away, brakes, piece of cake.

And whatever you to learn to check the pads yourself. The money pushes any tech to push the job prematurely, and you can guestimate the pad thickness thru the spaces in the alloys, wheels on.

I found a good indy who works on VW/Audi and can do the same work in less then half the price and I can bring my own parts. I am looking at Labor ~$300 for all 4 pads/rotors.
I am going to wait till the pads reaches 3mm or warning light comes.

Which shop is this? I'm in IL too. Around an hour south of chitown and I'll need an Indy shop to work on my A4.
