Wakandan RS3

What’s good all? Been lurking for a couple of months here. After swooning over the RS3 for several months... I decided to bite the bullet. I sold my modded 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS & 2015 B8.5 S4 consolidated and here we are!

Plans for the future? IROZ IMS850 built motor as soon as Custom Code can crack the 2019 ECU. Until then wheels, suspension, & some cosmetic attention. I have owned over 20 cars of varying performance (mainly German) and this is without a doubt my favorite one yet!

Below are pictures from the day I picked it up from the dealership (May 31st)! Mythos black, dynamic package, black ops, aluminum trim, technology package.

First things I did were PPF, Paint Correction, and ceramic coating. Firstly, I want the car to look great and secondly I plan on keeping this car as a daily for the foreseeable future and beyond. I do drive a decent amount of miles in a year, and the Idaho roads aren’t great, even in the city here in Boise. So protecting the paint is paramount to longevity.

Annoying part is my detailer told me to give it a week before washing it, no matter how dirty it looks. So rolling around looking like I didn’t give a crap about my brand new car for a week was a little embarrassing.

The ceramic coating I bought is Opti-Coat Crystal Serum. The tag line for the product is “never wax again!” We’ll see how true that is over the next couple of years. I also bought their no rinse soap and hyper seal for hand washing. It’s supposed to be the easiest way to wash the car and maintain the ceramic coating and PPF properly.

HRE FF04 Satin Black 19x9.5 et45
Michelin Pilot Sport 4s 255/30/19
Square setup

I have H&R sports springs yet to install, along with a bunch of 034 suspension goodies, and EMD rear sway bar. Will try and get those in next week or the week after.

I was on the fence about going all black everything, but I think I like this look! I had the PS4S tires on my Porsche and loved the performance. I thought the Porsche had a stiffer ride (which it obviously did) but since driving 100 miles with the PS4S I think that it’s definitely a tougher compound than the PZEROs as I’m getting more of that road feel that I had in the Porsche. It’s not a bad thing at all, but the compound difference is tangible. I’m sure once the tires are “broken in” things may change. Just some feedback.

PS my OEM Black Ops wheels with practically new tires are for sale now...

I am just rubbing my eyes just to make sure that I am reading this right. You sold a Porsche 718 GTS for an Audi RS3?. I own a RS3 but I personally think that the 718 GTS is one step above the Audi RS3. If you just want to go fast on the straight line with a turbokit I totally understand but damn ... a 718 GTS is one of the best sports cars for the money right now.. and it looks appealing.. and it handles better than the RS3, and it is good on gas mileage and it is very refined inside.

Or do it like I do: Drive a 981 GT4 and a RS3. 😉 I love both cars, however, the Audi needs a tune and other dampers to be truly amazing.

I believe the Dynamic Package option comes with the RS Fixed Suspension ..hence no Mag ride. My 2018 has the RS Fixed Suspension which I have finally gotten use to. In Toronto our roads suck too ... its a very firm ride but liveable as a daily driver. Congrats on the purchase and awesome car ... you will love it. The GTS was nice but this is a more practical DD and with the IROZ set up you will be crushing the competition :)

Yes, you read that right. Having owned one and driven it for a year I’m a pretty good authority on what it offers. Great car, superior build quality and handling. But I never hit the track as there isn’t one out here. The ceiling is pretty low for modding that thing for power without spending the earth. I wrapped two cars into one now. I will now have a stupid fast daily that is practical and can be driven all year round for less than half the price of what the other two cost me.

If it was a 911 turbo or a 911 GT car that I got rid of then that would be a different story. I aim to get a GT or Turbo when I am moved into the new house within the next couple of years. But for now, this is exactly what I need.

Different strokes. I didn’t buy the RS3 to be a track demon, so I’m ok with sacrificing that aspect for what will eventually be twice the power.

GT4s are awesome, they sound so good. I’ve considered one, but they’re not the quickest thing in the world. My GTS could put away GT4s pretty easily. They sound, great and handle awesome though!

You're thinking of the Dynamic PLUS package. That's the one that comes with the RS fixed suspension. The Dynamic package is just the staggered wheel/tire setup, red brake calipers, and sport exhaust.
