It's all just speculation at this point but I think the injector went bad, caused that cylinder to run lean thus causing it to run hot and it was driven for an extended period of time because the PO didn't want to pay to fix it, and eventually burned the valve and caused loss of compression in that cylinder. I never found out for certain because I replaced the injector on that cylinder just for good measure.
I can't say for certain because it went through 3 or 4 sets of hands within a few months before me of people probably thinking it just needed a coil and after they found out it likely needed an engine they just dumped it. Poor thing :/
