Yes, mine has cold weather package - heated wheel and front/rear seats but also paddles. All factory original as far as I can tell.

I’ve considered adding rear parking sensors and might still...

I didn’t think of the cargo rails (inside) being an option. Mine has them and I love them.

After having a few cars now with convenience key and push button start I never want a car without them again. It’s minor but so nice.

I thought I would love adaptive cruise, but having driven a couple other cars with it on by default, I don’t really like it as much as I expected.

Maybe the steering wheel issue was just in the 2009 model year.

Mine is a 2009 Prestige and it has the heated steering wheel and rear seats, but no paddles (according to the 2009 sales brochure the cold weather package cancels the paddles). It also does not have the C6.5 aluminum frame around the steering wheel buttons or MMI 3g. It still has the MMI 2g like the C6. Same with the climate control unit, mine has the "ECON ON/OFF" and "SETUP" buttons from the C6 instead of the "ON/OFF" and "A/C" buttons from the C6.5. It is the weirdest combo. All C6.5 on the outside and in the engine bay, but C6 inside.

I like the Mercedes-Benz ACC, because you can turn off just the radar guidance while still using the regular cruise control by itself. But there are many different systems out there and some are much better than others. I think they work best for driving on two lane highways, especially when you have vehicles in front of you that cannot keep a consistent speed and there is no good way to pass them safely. It makes driving much more relaxed when you don't constantly have to manually adjust your speed.

The 2009 model year came prior to 3gmmi being implemented. 2009 being the first year of the facelift, the only way to obtain the 3gmmi and the 3g goodies was to obtain a true sline which seems almost impossible

Yeah and the Avants didn’t offer s line at all. In 2011 MY they all got sline but were never badges as such.

Same w/ my 2009. It came with the heated steering wheel but no paddles. I swapped it with one w/ paddles but not heated. Even in VCDS, it's either one or the other and not both.

I haven’t decided if I’m going to give up heat and swap a wheel. I really want to but it really comes in handy a couple Months a year.

Having come from a car with the heated wheel that I swapped for one with paddles, no comparison. Paddles>heat

why dont you guys import a steering wheel from Canada? My A6 has both heating and paddles...its normal here in Canada. Although its the 4spoke steering and not 3 spoke even though my car is a S-line because heated steering is not available with 3 spoke steering wheels.

Paddles are handy 12 months a year.

    What year?

Mine is 07 and had paddles, 4 spoke wheel, s line package. No heating.
Swapped it with 3 spoke from A4 s Line with paddles, also no heat.

Mine is a 2010...although its a special edition vehicle so not sure if it has something to do with that...its has the Monza Silver metallic paint with S-Line package and special edition wheels. Paddles in the first pic and the steering heat button in the second pic.

Huh, wonder if that will work in an 09 that's 'C6.25'. My avant follows the pattern of the rest in that it still has the C6 hvac controls. Being in hvac myself I get a kick out of the fact that the button actually says economizer.

Being that this is our ski car, the heated steering wheel trumps the want for paddles. But paddles would still be nice (as would push button start).

It really does. Those cold Michigan Winter mornings are not pleasant. I see you have the best color combo on your Avant. That is extremely nice. If you ever see yourself selling it, let me know. I'd be interested if I'm in the market at the time.

Thanks yeah it’s a rather rare color - only 9 of em ever built in MY 09. Not sure about 10 or 11. But I’ve never seen another Avant in garnet red in my life.

Just got the front number repainted and the crash bar done in gloss back so it doesn’t show through the grill as much . I need to do a chrome delete soon.

I’m probably gonna drive this guy for another 5 years at least I still have a few plans for it and some upgrades in my garage I need to put on. S6 brakes and a mototec exhaust are waiting.

Very nice! I would much prefer that over our Quartz Grey on Light Grey, but as you know, slim pickings with A 3.0T Avants in general, especially the Prestige trim.

I do have the MotoTec exhaust and love it. Not too loud, but with a nice throaty note and it can pretty aggressive when you want it to be. I am doing some major lighting upgrades (sent the headlight units off to Germany for LED turn signal conversion and lens/projector upgrades today), so we will keep it for as long as we can't afford to outright buy a C8 Avant, which will be several years.

I am happy for you, what a great looking Avant!

We are currently looking at a 2006 3.2 quattro Avant with all options to add to our fleet, but sadly it is Dakar Beige on Cardamon Beige with Birchwood Inlays, so an unfortunate color combo. It does have complete maintenance records and is in impeccable shape.

Looks like mine minus window tint. Add some window tint and it looks like a new car. Highly recommend it.

I'm considering this one of I can confirm that the adaptive air suspension is going to give me the ground clearance I need.
Is a fresh Japanese import so no service history available (this is not unusual here in NZ) but low km sand looks like a decent spec.

I'm looking at these two right now:

    This one is semi-local: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details...dId=1496301033

This one is not, and it's a bit pricier, but still looks like a better buy: https://www.autotrader.ca/a/audi/a6/...%207B3&sprx=-1

    What do you gurus think?

If you can afford either one, I would certainly go for the second one. Not only does it have fewer miles, but also a much better color combo and it comes with a winter wheel package. Of course the last deciding factor should be a PPI and a thorough test drive on each.

My thoughts were very similar. There are going to be transportation costs and logistics to figure out for option 2. I actually set up a PPI for it for tomorrow, so we’ll see how that comes back.

Road trip! Or maybe we have a member here who could have a look and test drive it for you and check things out while you video chat. That would add another layer of information to supplement the PPI.

I have friends and family out that way, so it would be nice to visit! I'll see what the PPI reveals and go from there.

Good catch! I guess I wasn't looking closely enough. I haven't entirely ruled this car out, but I'm gonna wait until I see what happens with the other one.

There's always this option, since there are no more updates for the factory navigation: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=893966

Here's a nice one that I was looking at, but couldn't agree on a price with the owner. He is a very nice retired teacher and was OK with getting a PPI (we never got to that point in the process). I do have a current carfax that I can share via PM if anyone is interested.

According to the owner it has some minor rust starting on the bottom behind the passenger front wheel well. From his description and the photos (they're about 17 months old) I gather it would be something that could be repaired.

Yes it is. I'm just interested in the avant part of it. We already have a 3.0T. So this one would have been the one we'd safari a little bit. So now we're still looking.

He said he may get back to me if here doesn't sell it this weekend. We shall see.

Sorry, somehow I had it in my head that we were doing avant in general.

Is there a way to delete the post?

I have a 2010 silver/gray prestige with 167k that I'm going to put up for sale soon. I'm in Atlanta.

    Any interest here?

    Thanks!

I'm glad I spent the $200 on a PPI. Unfortunately, it seems the owner maintained the car carefully...as in careful with his wallet.

If this were any other more common model, I would walk away no question. Considering this would be a significant step down from my Q5 3.0T, I'm kinda bummed how badly this turned out, especially given how promising the ad looked.

Wow, that is pretty bad. I do get the rock chips on the front bumper, but given the description in the ad and the age and mileage of the vehicle that is the only issue I would reasonably accept for that price. It still is a nice car and if they got all those issues sorted out it might be worth what they're asking. Like this though? CP

This is a prime example of how important it is to spend some money on good research and a PPI.

That's rough if it were from southern california. Sounds/looks about right for a car this old that's lived though some harsh winters, especially if they've taken it up into the mountains, which given that it's in Calgary - highly likely. The biggest concern would be the leak near the water pump.

I agree that would be normal for a car up in Calgary. But the ad stated "excellent condition in and out, carefully maintained and driven" and that's just not true in this case. Even up in Calgary "excellent condition" and "carefully maintained" is not what this is, unless they were actually referring to their wallet when talking about being careful, like sebvw suggested.

    Rant mode on:
My Audi has lived its life in Michigan for the past 9 years and apart from a few small rock chips on the front bumper, some scrapes underneath it, some scratches in the front passenger window tint and a small piece broken off the outside of the passenger side side marker, has no major cosmetic flaws or any of the mechanical issues of this vehicle, because it is in fact well maintained and driven and all those issues will be addressed before the winter. I would never call its condition excellent though. It is in good condition and mechanically sound.

    • When I saw the paint rubbing off on the rear quarter panel where it and the rear bumper meet, I had that repaired by a body shop before the galvanization wore off and oxidation occurred.
    • There was a scratch in the driver door sill that was deep enough to start oxidizing, so I had it repaired.
    • When my driver seat started developing a crack I had that repaired.
    • Same with cuts on my dashboard my angry 9-year old put in it when he was mad at me one time.
    • Same with a crack in my rear view mirror frame.
    • When I broke off one of the tabs on the center vents when installing my Android navigation, I bought a part number matching vent assembly to replace it.
    • Every 10k miles it goes in for service according to the Audi maintenance schedule and they address all points per the schedule and any additional concerns I have, plus I replace/service all air and other filters per Audi schedule.
    • I bring it in to a VW/Audi specialist every 5k miles between scheduled services and have them do an oil (Castrol Edge per Audi recommendation) and filter (Mann Filter) change and minor inspection and have anything repaired that needs attention at that time (usually nothing).

What I'm trying to say is, that you can maintain a vehicle to keep it in much better condition than this one if you are willing to put in the money and/or work and even with the way I maintain my vehicles I would never call them in "excellent condition". No 10-year old daily used car is. Good condition is about the best you can get out of a vehicle that age and mileage and if someone makes claims like this and then has a car that is clearly neglected I just can't stand for that.
    Rant mode off.

Sorry for the rant. I am not directing that at you, but anyone who makes claims like that about a vehicle anyone with two good eyes can clearly see are not true.
