That is sweet! I’m curious to see if it sells for that much. Seems a little high to me.

So, the wife just landed a work from home position and we no longer need 2 larger daily drivers. Debating on selling the A6 as it has higher miles and is a few years older than the SHO, and we miss having something stick shift. What's a ballpark range for a 140k 09 Avant? There's so few of these for sale it's hard to determine. I did the whole PCV/thermostat/carbon clean/water pump/etc about 10k miles ago. All pads/rotors and upper front control arms ~20-25k ago. Trans is up to date on fluid flushes. It's also functioned as a ski and dog car so the exterior has some rock chips/paint scuffs and the interior is probably an 8/10. Silver over black, cold weather package. Was thinking the $8-10k range here in CO where awd wagons tend to command a bit of a premium.

Otherwise debating keeping it and running it into the ground since we know all the maintenance history on it. The SHO has an internal water pump (yes, the water pump is IN the block) and the rear turbo takes ~8-12 hrs to replace, so I'm dreading the day that one or both of those pops up.

^^^why would you sell it? Unless your non daily drivers are something better. I cannot imagine myself selling mine unless I replace it with another one.
That being said, I think you can get a little more than 8-10. Sounds like the only drawback is the high mileage. If you have down the maintenance, that shouldn’t be an issue.
    Good luck with your decision.

Eh, mostly just got the itch for something different. We both miss having a stick shift in the household, and driving a buddy's new 6 speed Golf R certainly didn't help. I drive 20-25k mi/yr so if I take it over it'll get run into the ground pretty quick. Call it sacrilege on an Audi board but I'm also super curious to play around with an N55 or N54.

The 173 at that price, if well maintained, could be a pretty good deal.

I hope the 60K Mille me sells for that much. Means mine has increased in value. Pictures? Is there a significance for posting the VIN?

Vin makes it easier for me to post rather than linking to the manheim site (you need a login I think). It's my lazy way of posting

    Subscribed.

I’m familiar with the motors as I have a B8 S4. I’m looking to replace my current avant.

Anything in particular to look for in these cars? Thanks.

I thought that thing sold. If yours isn't moving quickly still under 100k, we'll probably just hang onto ours at 140k (and climbing).

Hey guys, new member here. I took home this 2010 Avant Prestige about 2 weeks ago after browsing wagons for about 2 years. I previously owned a B5 S4 Avant 6MT. Absolutely loved the car but it was a bit small (I'm 6'9").

    https://www.randiauto.com/details/us...lroad/60777197

There really is only a handful of these out there, and very few with relatively low miles. Here are some others I considered.

Maybe the best deal at the moment. No paddle shifters or push button start but looks to be in very good shape

Nice find. Yeah, they are pretty rare. Only a little over 1,000 imported to the USA. I envy your black exterior color and the extra features you have (push button start, paddle shifters, etc.). You should look into tuning it. Again, nice find.

Prices are going to drop in the next few months now that the RS6 and A6 Allroad are coming back to North America. Few things you want to make sure as far as these 3.0T Avants go; 3.0T motors built prior to 2012 had oil consumption issues partly due to piston rings which weren't fully sealed; other issues are water pump, thermostat, ignition coils, and PCV system. Wouldn't worry too much about timing chain rattle; change oil regularly; check timing values in VCDS; the rattle doesn't necessarily mean increased wear and tear.

Doubt it. Look at the UrS6 and '91 200 avants. A clean example of those will still run $5-12k despite their age. With them changing Quattro to the heavy FWD bias (I have a similar system in my Ford, it's not great) there will be die hards that want a 'true' Quattro. Plus you're talking about a $60k+ car vs a $10-20k car. Not the same market.

Thanks, I also like the white with black interior, but black on black IMO is very flattering on the Audis in general. I don't love the beige/grey headliner but I suppose I could change it out if it bothered me enough. I do plan on tuning it eventually. Also wheels/lower and maybe S6 seat swap. Bonus and tax refund coming soon. One thing at a time.

Good info, thanks. I did a water pump on my S4 with the 4.2 V8, and lived with the startup timing chain rattle for a couple years. Never did see published figures on how many of those actually failed. Agreed with regular maintenance the risk is low. I suspect the V6 on this platform will be relatively accessible, considering it was offered with V8 and V10 options in the same bay. I'm just over 90k, will do plugs and coils at a minimum when it hits 100k. Any recommendations for transmission service? Audi only says check for leaks.

    Keep it!

The privacy shades, are they on the back doors? That and parking sensors are really the only factory options I'm missing I think.

back doors and trunk. Power trunk. Parking sensors. Illumination in doors panels like these new cars have. sunroof. Only thing this one is missing of the list was Adaptive cruise control. has regular cruise.
It was $83,000 CAD when new. back at that time, cad and us were close. Im still to see ANY with this trim.
But Ive put so much money in it that its getting annoying and just because of it will keep it until I find a similarly loaded Q7 with captain seats.

Very nice. I don’t have adaptive cruise or backup sensors, just backup camera and regular cruise. No rear window shades either, just tailgate. The owners manual suggests lane assist was available also but I don’t have it.

My wife just got a 2015 Q7. Don’t think captains chairs were available until after ‘15 but it has everything else we wanted. It’s a sweet ride, I cane very close to getting one for myself honestly.

Q7 even the very first from 2007 had an option of captain seats... it was an extra, and not a lot of them have it. I have 4 girls and that would work perfect for me as in 3 years ill have all 4 going to school. So far only 2 so Im okay with wagon.

    sorry for OT here

Replying to previous posts. Regarding the black headliner, I did that on my A4 B7. I highly recommend it. I’d do it on my A6 C6 Avant if I could find the black headliner. I think it’s only available in Europe.
Regarding the price point rising or dropping, I’m not sure I really care. It’s not an investment to resell some day in the future to make money off of. I put money into it, I drive it like I should, and it is wonderful. I’m enjoying it. Audi’s are not meant sit still. Most cars aren’t. Enjoy them.

New to me 2010 3.0 Avant

Wish I would have seen this thread years ago............

I finally found a sweet 2010 that was both close to me (<10 miles) and only had 60K miles.
Most cars I found were either; too far away, too many miles.

I found it via an autotrader search alert i had configured.
Crystal Grey (I think) over light grey with dark grey trim.
    One previous owner.
    Garage kept in Escondido CA
    Prestige.
    My favorite OEM wheels.
Not flawless, but pretty close with full service records.

I bought it off the local mercedes Dealer's lot and it still had a DO NOT SELL sticker plastered on the front windshield.
Even then they told me it was a good thing I didn't dawdle as they got 2 calls on it while i was negotiating.

    I'm happy
Here shown next to my (previous) red 2011 A4 Avant at the dealer

    I'm happy

I saw this on autotrader as well. Nice pickup! I’m on the east coast. They weren’t thrilled about shipping. I suspect they got a ton of calls on the car given that only a couple pop up infrequently. Hope it treats you well.

As of last week there were 3 Avants for sale on car gurus in the RI area, I didn’t grab and screenshots or links as I was in class lol, but more are popping up lately as the cars age
