2013 RS5 Transmission Error Codes (with VCDS faults attached)

Hello all!

This is my first post here! My name's Paul, and oddly enough I'm a VW driver (love my German engineering), but I'm here posting for a friend of mine - it's just easier for me to post for him.

He has a 2013 RS5 with 80xxx km's on it, and recently he has been having some transmission issues. He went to put the car in park after moving the car from his garage to the driveway (engine was cold) and the dashboard started to light up with Transmission warnings, TPMS warnings and various other warning lights. It's been about 3 weeks since then and he's consistently having the car stalled on him as well as the car not being able to start. Also noticed that the fan is running when the engine is off as well.

I've attached the VCDS code from my scanner below - I recognize this may be a mechatronics failure, but it seems quite premature given its mileage. Can anyone of you fine ladies or gentleman provide a further prognosis on these error codes? As of right now, I have cleared them but I still have the file with the codes that were displayed.

Battery was my first though, is it in good health?

I’m guessing you cleared the codes and they came back or the problem persists?

Had you done any recoding on the VCDS? I ask this as I put in the code for ceramic brakes and it threw up all manner of transmission codes and warning lights on the dash, with only the ignition on, I heard some whirring and clicking from the centre diff as I entered the code and then the dash lit up. Changed it all back to stock and cleared out the codes.

The codes have been cleared and the problem still persists for some reason. He just ended up taking it to the dealership, so he'll get a battery health check there as well.

Hey guys,

Solved the problem. Pin 87 (power) on the ECM Power Module Relay had arced and as a result, was allowing the engine to miscommunicate with the transmission, resulting in all the codes that were displayed. Was a $35 relay at Audi dealership, hope this can help anyone in the future.
