So everyone says that third party extended warranties are a scam.

Well mine paid off a bit so far. My very reputable Audi specialist found leaking hydraulic fluid at a passenger side lower control arm. (8K0407693AD). The Audi part is about $485. Well they recommend replacing the control arm, AND the other side corresponding control arm (passenger and drivers side) AND four wheel alignment. I gave my shop the warranty info and it was a breeze. They covered everything no questions asked (for me at least).

So total bill was $1400 and I only paid a $200 deductible. Iím still not at break even with my warranty (about $2700 plus whatever deductibles I pay) , but I have over one more year left to go, so heres to hoping something else breaks soon.

Shouldn't be too hard to find stuff wrong. Water pump, fuel injectors, timing chain, turbo, use that warranty!
