    Power seats in RS3

Just missed my opportunity to purchase an RS3 with specific RS power seats. Can someone help me figure out how that car got power seats and was sold in the US?

I think the car has power seat adjustments for tilt and lumbar - it's the front and back that is manual and not power.

They look to me like they came out of an S3 and maybe added after but those do not have the RS3 diamond stitches from what I can see.

Interesting, it's a Canada car but for sale in Chicago area. Wheels aren't an option in the US nor are the standard sport seats, I don't believe.

I've been wondering about fitting the TT-RS seatts in there.... Those thing are gorgeous. Even a way to get the seats lower would be nice. They made a kit for my old Focus RS but I haven't seen anything yet for the RS3.

I'd also love to know if I could find a way to install a door pull similar to what's in a 911 T Sportex Interior.

I thought of putting the TTRS seats too but couldn’t seem to find them online. Those seats do look great! Had the S3 and S4 but it seems like I’m going back in time and wasting money. Love the engine of the RS but I’ll be giving up all the features I’ve been use to for years!

That kinda crossed my mind but most of the Canadian car videos show the car without them. Maybe their dealerships offered them on special requests. Canadians are sometimes treated better with options than the US. Lol.

They don’t have quilt. Looks just like my S3 seats but it does have RS printed on them.

Right, they're standard sport seats like the S3 has, no quilting. Here is the cached page for the car, they must have had different options for seats than the US did, just like they did for wheels.

FYI. The reason the RS3 has manual seats has nothing to do with weight.

On Canadian orders there's an option for "alternative power seats" but from the looks of it they are just the S3 seats with the separate headrests, so nothing special.

I wish they offered something with better bolstering and a lower seat height as an option, like a "competition" seat or something along those lines.

I think it has something to do with head clearance for helmets etc. The electric seats are higher.

This is the exact reason.. power seats added and inch or just over a inch reducing head room.. So manual is what the designers went with.. I went back and forth for a while on the seats and almost didn’t buy the car because of it.. But now I hardly notice it since I have my seat in it’s position and I never touch it..

the worst thing about the RS3 seats is that they will not work with any racing harnesses. The "racing model" needs aftermarket seats if it is to be fitted with 4 or 5 point harnesses. An expensive proposition. I would love to know if someone has found a way to get racing harness to work with factory seats. I have been looking at adding a track bar behind the seats, but have not seen harness to fit the track bar arrangement
