That was in the middle of winter haha and that temp didn't help much with traction I have ran similar numbers with temps in the 60 range Screenshot_20200805-104114_Gallery.jpeg

@SIQ5 @joe916 Appreciate the love guys but can we please not cloud up this thread with Dragy results. There’s a long-standing ‘SQ5 0-60 and 1/4 mile times’ thread already for all that stuff. As stated in the first post (where the other thread is linked), this is for track times to be submitted to the official list. Thanks!

Guilty. Sorry for starting the trend. I'll keep the Dragy's to my thread until I get to a proper strip.

your numbers seem way off you should at least be in the mid to high 12s even with temps over 80s

I agree. I would think that a stage 1 would be a bit quicker than 2.1s on the 60’. I think that some time is being lost there.

    Makes me think:

    1. He did not engage AMAX. That is usually worth .4 to .5 seconds right there.
    2. Maybe he had very high DA due to temps and humidity. I guess we could look up that for his track in Ohio.

It does seem at least a half second slow.

DA for that run was 2528. I am alos running a beta trans tune so that could be playing into it a little. I am also a bigger guy so the added weigh isnt helping im sure lol

Be sure you engage AMAX. That 60' seems like you didn't or spun badly (doubtful) but maybe I'm mistaken. If your trans tune has 7,000 shift points (at least), that will help.

nope no tire spin that i noticed. i did log a run last night and i noticed the trans was not shifting where it should have i sent the logs to my tuner fore review. i really do appreciate everyone's input as i am new to all of this. i was looking at the list and the guys that are running high 12's on stage one all have sub 1000 DA's it takes an act of god and the sacrifice of a young child to even get close to a 2000 DA around me lol

I would say that with any of the big 3 tuners 93 octane file combined with a good TCU tune, good gas and IAT that are under control even in a high DA they should be running closer to mid 12s @ 110-112mph. In low DA there are STG 1 / TCU tune guys running low 12s @112-113mph . There isn't many people out there taking their STG1 Qs out and getting a 1/4 mile paper slip with them. I'm basing this off of many dragy runs (they don't make this list) and 1/8th mile times I have seen of STG1 Qs with a TCU tune. That being said the TCU tune is usually a HPT tuners with a BGSQ5 file. Its sorted and proven to reduce ETs.

So all that being said i don't think you have run your fastest time yet by a long shot. You should be able to cut a 1.8 60ft pretty easily with the right stall setting and a AMAX launch and if your IAT are under control, good fuel and your shift points @ 7K or higher your MPH should be in the 112mph range give or take. Congratulations on your run ! Its always a blast to get out to the track.

i agree 100% i don't think i have seen my fastest run yet by far. i do believe my issues are in the TCU tune my log from last night was showing shifts that were all over the place.

To be honest up until this weekend I wasn't sure if AMAX existed. I was quite confident in not breaking something so I don't think I engaged it fully.

It makes a huge difference. You will know if it is engaged. The upshifts 1>2 and 2>3 will be violent and shove you back, even on stock tune.

You will not break anything. Audi includes it with the stock ZF8 tune.

    To enable AMAX:

S-mode, traction control off, steering straight, foot on brake pedal, floor gas pedal, release brake pedal. As MSq5 said, once engaged you’ll notice a difference.

Some of the guys tuned with HP Tuners on the ZF8 TCU are running “rolling AMAX” so they don’t need to come to a complete stop to have the AMAX type shifts.

Nice job RoofRails that’s 0.332 lower than your Stage 1. Does that extra bit feel nice compared to Stage 1 or is it getting to be diminishing returns? A stock Q5 is maybe 14.2 and you dropped 2 seconds with ECU/TCU tune!

Thanks Pete ! The Audi community is amazing and if it wasn't for all the information everyone shares im sure my car wouldn't be as nearly dialed in.

"Nice run. Congrats! Good to see the return of decent DA. You have your car dialed in well".

To Silver_Bullet My Stage one record was made in a much lower DA. So I don't believe I have ran my fastest time yet. That being said as the car sits right now @ STG 2, I feel it is worth it. It absolutely feels much angrier then it did before. Low end and mid range punch are much improved. Believe it or not a 11.91 feels more intense then a 12.24.Even though the time looks incremental on paper. I missed setting up my amax on my second run and still turned in a 12.4 @ 113 and that run felt like I was tied to a stump. My goal was to see if I could build a 11s STG 2 without going nuts with the pulley ratio and do it on Pump gas. It didn't look like too many guys were accomplishing this. I knew I wasn't going for 10s so I set my goal a little lower... LOL !

Angrier, I like it! You're also at a 93 pump record I believe so pretty sweet.

How are you liking the Neuspeed/DWS06 combo? Do you feel like the weight is making any difference? Not sure if you ever did a Stage 1 run with the new wheels or if is too much in the weeds to make a difference.

You are correct on the 93 pump record. I like to pick off the low hanging fruit.... LOL ! As for the rims, I love them. I didn't make a pass at STg1 with the Nuespeed rims. I did some 0-60 and 1/8th mile runs on draggy and didn't see a huge improvement. I'm sure they help some. Where I did feel an improvement was in the steering wheel / steering response and in my ride quality. Everything feels lighter and more nimble now and the ride quality improved nicely.

Thanks for the input on the Neuspeeds, I may go with that combo. Lighter weight and improved ride quality, what’s not to like? Congrats on the 93 record!
