It ran 11.55 and 11.56 out the gate in ~1000DA. I let it cool down for a few hours and had it really primed to go lower, but too much brake torquing killed the stall/launch...2.0 60’ went 11.89. Got right back in line, watched the IATs creeping up for 15 min, and went 11.49. I guess I should have set my goal for the season higher!

Btw- IATs were the exact same on the 11.49 as the 11.72 (2.96 PR) last year in similar air...starting at 40C and finishing at 65C. I’m convinced the switch from 2.96 to 3.26 was worth about 0.15 sec and 1 mph.

It’ll probably be another month until the cool weather comes back/stays, but the plan is to be on the 104 tune then.

Thanks everyone! I've learned over many years of racing not to get my hopes up on trips to the dragstrip, but all my data (which is pretty extensive, haha) had me more or less expecting 11.6 this time out. The 11.5s and 11.4 were a nice surprise and really has me torn as to how far I take this now.

My initial goal 2 years ago (before I lost AMAX) was to simply run 11s, and I only eyed the record last year because it was within easy striking distance with the emergence of the trans tuning. Adding the pulley and a little more E% this year was no big deal. However, I have no intention of doing test pipes at this point (so that kind of cock blocks the TB), and I'm not feeling the time and money investment for a ported s/c. W/m and/or KC just doesn't seem worth it for me either. Therefore, I'm probably not the ideal person to be pushing the mark lower, as I'm more about a consistent, practical daily driven setup and not about compromising any aspect of the car (sound, reliability, special fuel/tune, etc.) just to put a time down.

We'll see what it does in cooler air and on the 104 tune/e40 yet. I've already scaled back how much I test it/run it though, and sooner or later I'll probably essentially retire AMAX and the aggressive trans tune. At what point do you say "okay SQ, you did your thing, shined and enough is enough" when it comes to all the max acceleration runs?? I'll probably be around 200 launches on it before the year is over, and I care WAY more about the car and its longterm life (even if it's not with me) than these 1/4 mile times.

Awhile ago I told a buddy that if it went 11.3 this year, I'll buy a dedicated set of wheels and d/r's, gut it some week, and attempt the unthinkable. On the ride home the other night it hit me that it's a very legitimate possibility now, and I'm going to have a tough a decision to make. That just may be its 1/4 mile swan song come spring. One of you local guys would have to be there to get good video though!

I hear ya but now we are walking a thin line. Street trim to me means setup for daily driving but I guess that would also negate removing the spare tire, tool kit etc. from the trunk.

Quite frankly I don’t care as long as you are honest with what you have done to the vehicle. This also brings to the table the use of DA corrected times as us Florida peeps will never see DAs as low as you guys up north.

What map are you running for your ECU? If you're already on winter gas out there, you might be not mixing in enough E85 (which could actually be closer to E50 from the pump). You can get a cheap ethanol content tube and check the pump, or run a fuel-it/other E content sensor.

What were track conditions? Temp, humidity, DA? That could explain a lot. Then, add heat soak in the staging lanes. And there may be a question as to whether you really got all of the air out of the HX when you did your bleed. That can make a big difference.

Don’t have all track conditions but I did vacuum fill the coolant, but never bled it so that could explain.

How’s your coolant level? Even a few days after doing my hx (same with the auxiliary pump) my coolant level kept dropping as the air worked its way out. I would bleed when I got home from work and when I got to work and some air would always come out. After many repetitions of that there was no more air coming out of the bleeder screws and the coolant level finally stabilized.

Coolant level has never changed really, its been pretty much level since i filled. I did purchase the 034 supercharger bleed screws so once those arrive ill start bleeding there. I really gotta check the 1 log I got from the strip, but I dont think the log worked properly.

Sorry guys...been a minute. I’m getting the list updated now. Nice to see some more results. Good stuff, Eli!

NT555R in a 275/40r20 is what I’m eyeing...basically what the Trackhawk guys run.

Hey- if you rock them everyday, that’s technically YOUR street trim, and it’s still considered a ‘street’ tire by racing rules. D/r’s pretty much always get an asterisk though...same with any significant weight reduction/removal of parts. Both are considered compromises to the daily drivability/use of the vehicle and/or significant deviations from its intended design/purpose. Props to people rolling around in gutted interiors on the daily though. I definitely admire the dedication to the cause in that regard. Nothing wrong with either approach....to each is own.

I mean there’s a reason DAs are included with any results, but it’s not like you can rank results based on a theoretical calculation. The DAs most record aren’t even that accurate as they’re typically based on the closest weather station and not indicative of the actual track conditions. Given the same engine/setup, not all DAs of the same value are equal either.

While I definitely feel for the guys running at elevation, I must say that it’s a bit odd for you, being at sea level, to mention DA as a disadvantage. There are a number of consistently very fast 3.0Ts out of FL, and obviously the OG world record 3.0T car is a FL car. In fact, Loe held the street tire 3.0T record for years up until only a few weeks ago.

Now if you want to rank pulley ratio or money spent, you’d probably top the list. I’m not sure if that’s something to be proud of or not though. Haha...just playing with you bro. Looking forward to when you finally share some kind of performance metrics again

Yeah it’s all good. Hoping to get things sorted in the next few weeks for FixxFest in central Florida. Fueling is the issue on my end and I’m working on that now. I will say that the IE E40 Tune has the SQ moving though so there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Depending on how the weather conditions are next month I might still hit my local track a little later into winter when the temps drop way down. Just ordered a new set of PS4S rubber and some 20x10 Rohana RFX2s which should be in this week. Even at 10” they should be lighter than the Vossens that I am currently running.

Nice! Yeah, I saw your fueling posts on FB. Hopefully you get it figured out sooner than later and can get some runs in the cooler weather. I went 11.0x @ 125 back-to-back-to-back in 800+ DA in my buddy’s maxed out IE E40 A6 the other week for a new official A6 record. That tune is super solid when dialed in

Awesome! Was that Juan’s car? I’m probably going the same route as him with the LPFP.

LOL...you are the second person to ask me that. As you can see from the time slip they were tearing them in half and handing you only your time. All I know from the video is that he was 9.73s at the 1000’ and I was 9.63s.

KABOOM!!! Nicely done, but I wish you had left the seats in! Crazy DA! Car sounds badass!

I always thought the Qs should be maybe .3 - .4 off of the S4s/S5s if somebody really pushed it. You guys are finally there. Also nice to see it's just a plain vanilla APR Ultra Race Gas file that's a couple of years old. No need to reinvent the wheel here.

Kudos to BG_SQ5 for sharing his ZF8 experience - you are making cars fly now!
