book value for that car being mid $60's? nope. $45k.
maintenance completed as a point for upselling? nope. routine maintenance is only able to allow you to get fair value, not mark it up.
mods, add little to no value. cut the total price of the mods by 25%, maybe that is what you can ask for above fair value.
and most the pictures being taken at the track? doesnt make the car seem like it hasnt been abused.
Lol take a look at this then... I was offered 52-55k trade in by 5 dealerships as well.
Some people at places I have posted this car for sale have been trying to give me a hard time about the pricing of the vehicle. I will say that I am fully aware of the listed price and everything that stands behind it and won’t tolerate anybody trying to devalue it. If anybody does not have any intention of purchasing this vehicle or the parts I have for sale off it, please refrain from trying to add unnecessary commentary and move along. It is a waste of everyone’s time to stress over someone else’s property that you have 0 intention of buying.
And since I’m here, I’ll address those concerns even though you’re not an interested buyer. What modified car have you ever seen and not expected it to have been used for its intention, especially being a high performance model? You can sit here and assume that the car was “abused” all you want, but that’s not going to make it true. Those pictures were taken at Pocono Raceway where I went for the MPACT festival and Racemotive event that I was at with 6 other friends all with Audis/BMWs to watch them race and also to hang out for the weekend around the car scene. I didn’t run my car due to the high elevation and high ambient temp which resulted in an extremely high DA of 7,000ft+, no point. Happy now?
Even if the car was “abused”, anybody who knows these cars know that they can take it, especially if supporting mods and preventative maintenance have been done, which is exactly my case. They’re not fragile and brittle like BMWs or AMGs. People have taken these cars well over 900WHP and they’ve proven to be very safe and reliable other than breaking axles upon launch which would be the least of worries due to replacement being very cheap and easy.
As far as the mods go, I can’t stand when people make a blanket statement saying “they don’t add value”. They may not be worth it to you especially since you’re not even interested in the car, but for someone that would actually be interested in the car and would plan to do those mods in the future it’s 100% worth it. Saves a lot of time, effort, and money. Just because others who are desperate to sell their cars or just don’t care about the money they pissed away are getting rid of their modified cars for barely anything over retail doesn’t mean I’ll do the same. I’m not in a rush to sell the car and I won’t even sell it to just anybody. I’d rather have it go to an enthusiast that will appreciate the car and take care of it, than just someone who’s not gonna care about it at all. I take too much pride in the things I’ve put a lot of time, effort, and money into.
So point is... you might not see the value in my car, but I have at least 4 people showing serious interest and have made good offers. It’s just up to them and their personal situations if they want to go through with it.
FYI: the car is being sold at $68,000 OBO WITHOUT the HREs and Akrapovic. If someone wants to pay me extra money for them, perfect. If not, I can sell them on my own. But until someone else makes that decision, I don’t see any reason to take them off the car when I’m still driving it and enjoying it.
