We sure that’s not an S5 with some RS5 mods? Look at the Description:

S5 ---- RS5 Wide Body CFSA swap + Borg Warner EFR 9180 MED17.1.1 custom build by SPORTMILE POLSKA

Noticed no rear spoiler and interior looks funky?

Is it just me or does it have an S5 interior and a 6-spd?

I was thinking that also. Does the regular s5 v8 have dual intakes though?

That engine looks 100% RS5 to me and also the rear valance is RS5. No one ever upgrades with a stock RS5 rear lower valance lol.

    Edit: Its a Frankenstein

CFSA is the Audi designation for the RS5 engine and that's definitely an RS5 engine. The RS5 ABS is there on the right and the RS5 overflow tank on the left. So most likely a 6-speed conversion into an RS5. Steering wheel is B8 as are the headlights. They cut the firewall to fit the single turbo (Borg Warner 9180) behind the engine. There's a big cavity behind the engine and above the transmission so there's space, just not sure it'd handle two turbs and plumbing. Using a sucky HKS filter for the turbo, highly restrictive, probably sucked the foam into the compressor, LOL. Probably the only filter that'll fit. I used one once.... Video is from 2016. The intake/IC piping setup looks interesting. You basically have two liquid to air intercoolers where the stock airboxes would be and I'm sure a front-mounted liquid to air heat exchanger up front.

What's bizarre is the fan assembly, the upper support beam, is not from an RS5. It dips down on the passenger's side and you can see the intercooler fluid hose running to the heat exchanger at the front. I'm not familiar with what the A5 or S5 radiator/lock carrier looks like when everything's stripped off. Definitely not the OEM radiator either. They've swiss cheesed the crash beam.

It'd be interesting to see what sort of compact packaging you could do with laminova intercooler cores which are round and very compact. Just integrate them into a custom intake in the engine vee. No need for a super complicated intake with flaps and variable runners if you're using forced induction with modern, quick spool turbos. Just go for a staged plenum volume chamber like Porsche does. Overall it's interesting and sort of a hot mess all at the same time.

    Good find!

Well, they can rev the engine. Wonder if it actually drives and produces good power. :)

Would be much more interested in swapping in the R8 4.2 and doing the TTS Twin Rotrex Supercharger kit with 750hp and true daily drivability:

The R8's 4.2L is identical to the B7 RS4 and is an older design and not nearly as sophisticated. It also doesn't handle boost well at all due to the ring package and relatively weak rods. You'll get more power out of the CFSA motor with a proper forced induction setup (and proper tuning).

I've not seen any other videos of that turbocharged RS5. Thinking it never ran well or maybe blew a major component (like the tranny) before the bugs could all be worked out. Just a guess though. We're a lot further along with tuning the engine and TCU three years on from when that video was shot.

the stock rs4 motor and r8 v8 on e85 will hold 700 awhp no problem about 600 whp on 93 oct,the stock s5 motor have weak rods and won t handle more the 550 whp /425 ish foot pounds wtorque reliably.

Glad people are interested in the set up. But no word yet from the installer/manufacturer. Honestly, what Ape described above is probably more info and more accurate than I would've gotten from the installer so there's that.

Ape, what's the limiting factor in getting a (or a pair of) turbo in the rs5?

Space! Thermal management would be a close second, again limited by space. We have the largest oil cooler I’ve ever seen, made by Setrab. It’s larger than anything they make off the shelf. Fuel would be third but is probably doable.

It really comes down to what’s acceptable to you. If a bit of hacking is ok, anything is doable. I always look at performance from an OEM standpoint in terms of compromise and durability so what’s unacceptable for me personally may be totally fine for others. I’ll just root for and live vicariously through them!

Just to add...it all comes down with how much time you want to give in terms of maintenance and upkeep. I'm sure it's possible to position two twins just above the transmission or near where the OEM cats would be but it'll be really tight and you'll have a lot of prime components near the turbine housing. It may require removing lots of stuff just to change an intake filter. Little things like that. I DO think it's doable but man it'll be a lot of creative thinking, fabrication and spot-on execution to get it right.

I think the engine internals can handle a good increase in hp per cylinder as long as intake air temps are kept in control at said boost level and there will be challenges with the ECU and TCU but those are not impossible to overcome.

The RS4/R8 reciprocals aren't stronger than the RS5/R8 V10 components. There literally isn't a single major entity other than TTS (one-off's don't count) making a forced induction system for the V8 R8 and there's a reason for that, the weak engine. AFIK, they actually stopped making that kit and there are a few ex-owners over on the R8 forum who said their cars never ran quite right. Rods alone aren't going to cut it. It's the piston/ring and bearing package on the mechanical side, fuel notwithstanding. Pankel rods or not, if a ring land fails, doesn't matter how strong your rods are. There's a strong rumor and some evidence VF is working on a new kit but nothing definite. Show me a car putting out that sort of hp which has been running for a reasonable length of time without any sort of issue and I'll cry uncle. I swear.

The CFSA rotating assembly is identical to the V10 motor. The rods, pistons, rings, bearings, etc...all have the same part number. The V10 does fine with moderate boost levels, seemingly up to 90hp/cylinder, far better than the V8 BNR engine ever did.
