Looks nice, but the crank breather port is connected to the bottom of the can, so anything accumulated in there will always just drain back into the crankcase. Some people prefer that for one less maintenence item, but I prefer to keep those blowby gasses out of my oil.

Love THE TUNER products probably, going to buy one once they release it.

Will I not be able to afford this, like most TUNER products?

This product looks similar to the 2bennett system, >$895 (LoL)

First thing i thought when I saw it. LOoks like a pretty nice piece, but hate how jammed in the back it is.

A catch can setup that doesn't eliminate the key parts that make a PCV system work properly?!?!?! Not sure I've seen that before in any market let alone a product support a decade plus old drivetrain.. good on them.

    Very curious on the price.

Depending on the internals to the can itself it may still work well, yes you will be getting draining back into the crankcase but it still could function to separate oil to drain back to the crankcase and blow by gases/ fuel vapor goes to the intake. The low drain won't work well to separate oil and water but I haven't really seen too much of an issue with that like many of the later cars that operate cooler and have things like plastic valve covers which cause lots of condensation to form on the underside.

Or you can DIY this one for less than $150. It can be made to fit next to the y-pipe too.

that catch can in the the tuner kit looks like they painted a standard oil separator used in compressor equipment.. I've seen something similar before.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.

I could be wrong but I think the can is based off of

    https://www.amazon.com/Mann-Hummel-6...98373084&psc=1

I’ve seen people use them on other platforms with success and usually install is cleaner than your average catch can.

Unless it shares a filter with the provent so that there are off the shelf replacement, I see no similarities to it

The key to the provent is that is has a built in flow restrictor, this one is using the stock part for that.

Given that the RS4 Y and S4 Y are completely interchangeable (except for the lobsters), I see no reason why this would not work with a standard (late style) S4 Y-pipe.

I bought mine from the tuner website. Took about a week to get it. I haven’t got the chance to install it on my car yet.

Got mine from AZ member Mocke... great service all around. I've also gotten their parts direct in the past.

Mine in about a week out from arriving; I'll update when I get it and install!

Just got mine this week from Mocke as well, excellent to deal with, thank you very much!

Question regarding installation, I didn't receive instructions. The previous owner deleted the F-Hose on my car as well as the line than runs under the Intake Manifold to the Spider hose tank where the 4 hoses connect to and capped that port. Obviously I'm also missing the check valve on that line. I haven't take a a good look at things but I'm not super familiar with the stock setup since all that stuff was deleted and this is my first S4. I got a new F-hose (thanks again Mocke!) but I think I also need the long hose and the check valve although I'm really not sure. The whole idea behind getting this catch can was to get rid of all the oil that is gunking up my intake, filling my intercooler hoses and contaminating my intake mixture and lowering my effective octane rating of my fuel in the process. Don't really understand why people delete the F-hose to begin with but ultimately would like to get this Catch Can installed to do what it was designed to do. Any and all help is appreciated.

For adding the f-hose and PCV back in, get a silicone f-hose and PCV reducer but stick with a stock PCV valve as they are proven to be fine with higher HP builds. I don't see why people remove it either but to each their own.

These are the PCV products I run with my catch can setup:

Awesome, thanks for the tips! I've already got an F hose but I need the bleeder valve and the reducer, I also need the hose too I suppose? Can I get just that hose anywhere or do I need a whole set? Anything else I need for this install I should know about from anyone that has done it? I don't have my car with me right now and can't go take a peak.

    Thanks again!

Edit: Is there a flow diagram with any detail or pics, not really coming up in the search showing how it all connects.

Just use reinforced fuel hose to connect the PCV to the rest of the PCV system, not sure if the theTuner setup has a provision to link into the early style PCV based on the picture in the original post.

What do you have capped on the manifold in the 1st pic, apologies I'm not familiar with the later style manifolds. Also, what is capped on the left side of the catch can?

I’m running an RS4 manifold. I capped that fitting because I’m not using that port. The cap on the catch can is the port that goes to the N75. My N75 port is vented to the atmosphere at the moment. I’ll need to get a new hose to connect it to the The Tuner catch can. Since, the hose that came with it won’t fit the way I routed my N75.

So, I've been using the catch can for about 400 miles now.

Firstly, most everything is really well made. I've popped my Y off and the manifold is bone dry from any oil, which is the main point and the reason I bought it.

One big negative is that the top of the catch can itself was vacuum leaking from day 1. The first few times I drove the car I could see oil fumes coming out of the engine when stopped. I ended up silicone taping the top which worked and brought my idle vacuum back up to normal. Not sure if I got a defective can or what but I'll probably reach out to the Tuner to let them know. I probably just got the bad one in the batch.

Not what you want on an expensive product. If the unit is defective, i'd ask for a replacement and return your current unit.

Trying to assemble and install this tonight. Think I've got the directly attached hoses correct. Not really sure what way the bracket attaches or where the other longer hose goes yet. The smaller will attach to the pcv valve. Can anyone comment?

I've got an early style 2000 S4 that has an F hose. I also run the THE Y pipe. Maybe the longer hose is interchangeable on the pcv for early vs late style Y pipes?

    Thanks in advance!

...Actually I have 3 pieces left. The one in my hand will go between pcv to Y pipe, but not sure about the other 2 if anyone knows?

Looks like you got it. Here’s some pictures from the tuners site for reference. Odd how they didn’t give you any worm hose clamps. When I got mine, I got both worm hose clamps an oetiker clamps.

Just the pinch clamps. Guess they figure it won't be coming off too often. Are the 2 other hoses just extra for attaching to different Y pipe setups? My bracket looks different from all the pictures as well and seems to run into the side of the cap in any configuration like those pics. I'll know more about the bracket shortly though once I get some more removed from the engine bay. Thanks for the help!

Yes, the two hoses you pictured are for different Y-Pipe setups. One is for earlier model S4 and the straight one is for late model. The bracket you got is for US spec S4 and the one in the picture is for RS4 manifolds.

Perfect, thanks for the great answers! There's really not a whole lot of pics or info out there on these at the moment. Still a pretty new product. Andi at THE said he'd send me some more pics tomorrow, but I'm trying to get it installed and done tonight. I'll post up some more pics once installed just so anyone that comes across this in the future can see more.

    Thanks again!

No problem, it should be a pretty straight forward install. I like this setup so far. Just curious as to how long the O-ring under the catch can will last.
