Thinking of getting spacers for a slightly wider track and better fitment (without rubbing). Car is a '19 RS5 on stock suspension; wheels are Rohana RFX2s 20x10 ET26, tires are PS4s 275/30 ZR20. Maybe 10mm up front and 12.5mm rear?

You cannot bump to a 40 series. Your only option is 275/35. I'm currently running 19x9.5 on 275/35 -

Yep, but you must run the 265/30 tire

I am asking because I saw a couple of examples with these dimensions of wheel and 275 tyre, given as an aggressive fitment with no rubbing.
Seems strange to me.

Tires are totally fine. That's only a 1.1% OD variance. The 9.5 ET22 with 265 is tight for sure. But on stock suspension, I cannot see any rubbing. You could have a CNC shop machine the mount pad to ET25 and be 100% good.

Thank you I appreciate the info. Do you suggest a different tire size combo that would be more appropriate. I’d like to stuff the widest tire I can. I’m not a fan of stretched tires and I know that 275 is gonna be stretched.

For sure! You could easily fit a 285/35 at the rear, but the tire variance will be too large. I think 265/275 is the only play and will work well. The 35 series will stretch smoothly. I don't think you'll be displeased.

I would say ET33 is optimal, and Stance will do a custom offset, but ET30 will be issue free. Might simply poke a bit up front.
