So that’s why my pedal feels like it’s kinda stuck in molasses. Just had mine changed and they used the metal one 😒

Yeah. Great clutch disengagement, but pedal is semi slow to release. Almost like having the factory cdv in place. Was driving me nuts

Febi makes one too. It's what USP includes in their kit, but you can find the febi metal slave by itself for like 40 bucks

Cheap source for the Febi? I've seen it a couple places but for ~$100

Is the Febi a drop-in install or did it need some finagling like the Beck/Arnley?

Mine needed slight finagling. Pretty much just taking the powder coat off of where the slave slips into the bell housing

I got mine from eeuroparts on sale

Sounds like the same minor mod the Beck/Arnley needed. Thanks

    FTE slave?

The metal slave I got was from USP Motorsports. It says "FTE" or "FTEV" on it. Do you guys think this would have the same metering valve in it? It would make total sense based on what I've been experiencing.

This thread was just what I needed to see. I was having the sticky pedal and it was driving me crazy, I was worried it was a bigger issue, but this made me feel a million times better. Makes so much sense now, how if I let the pedal up slowly it doesn't bind up, but if i let my foot off completely it kind of lags on the come-up.

    +1 karma to OP.

Still need to fanangle it. I think they are the same Chinese supplier for the casting.

FTE is Febi. 40-60 dollar slave that USP puts a 150 dollar pricetag on

Hindsights always 20-20 I guess. Oh well, overpaid a bit.

Another thing, the FTE was definitely NOT a drop in. There had to be some slight machining/filing to the mounting hole. Wasnt impossible but wasnt drop in either.

But in all seriousness... great thread. Major props to rtl5009 for figuring this out.

Yeah I found the first link and of course it's on backorder, ECS is charging almost $100, and the Amazon link looks to be a plastic version.
ECS is still cheaper than USP though.

The part number supplied on Amazon shows up on febis website as aluminum construction. I think the posting is wrong

I know this is an old thread, but thank you for this. My pedal feels better than when I bought the car almost 3 years ago!
