2010 A6 Door Locking and Window not closing all the way up problem

    Hi guys,

Used to be random working not working, mostly now not working anymore. It`s the front passenger door that doesn't lock, all others doors lock. Now I noticed on that door also the window goes up all the way and then comes back to 75% open and the only way to close it all the way is to hold the button and it closes 100% the window.

I used to think it`s the locking module but now with the window issue on the same door kinda leads me think it's the computer module.

What do you think ? anyone had the same issue with their front doors ?

    Thank you

I have a similar issue. Passenger door doesn’t lock. I’m thinking you have two separate issues. The door is the actuator. I have been too lazy to tear apart the door and repair. I just lock it by using the key on the inside of the door jam.

From what I understand, the actuator is a complete PITA to change. My drivers door doesn't lock without inserting the key and its been a year or so and I haven't tried because I heard it was so hard.

If you have any luck i'd be interested.
Just not something I ever tried to tackle.

My pass window doesn't always wanna roll back up from the driver switch but does with passenger so thats just a bad switch.

I have the exact same situation with my passenger window. Doesn’t roll up from the driver switch so I have to reach across to the passenger door....problem solved :)

These actuators have been prone to failure since its original iteration in the C5 generation. Even door lock sensors have been known not to communicate well with the comfort module. Part is cheap, but the process of replacing is rather tedious, lol

In winter my drivers door does not unlock with the fob but will lock just fine. I just use the key to unlock the door the old fashioned way. When weather warms up everything is AOK.

I also have the sporadic issue with the passenger window auto close opening. This is a safety function that occasionally malfunctions. The way to get it to close is to open the window all the way and then close it while continuously holding the close button. It will disengage the auto close.

These are minor annoyances that I have absolutely no plan on fixing!

I had issues with the driver's door lock this winter (albeit California winter), except it would be intermittent whether it locks/unlocks with the key fob. Sometime in January it magically fixed itself and has not had issues since... go figure.

Knock on wood, but unfortunately with cars things rarely just 'fix' themselves.

thanks guys, well I have the exact issue for the past year or more sometimes it locks, sometimes it doesn't and now it just doesn't anymore. For the Window like someone else mentioned I only tested from the driver switch and noticed that, and if you hold the button after you open it all the way it works... small things but very annoying.
