    Re-introduction to the Audi world

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just picked up a b9 S4 last week and let me tell you, I am in love with this car. I have been an Audi fan for a long time. I had a b5 S4, then a b7 A4, and then I went and switched to a 2013 BMW 335i F30 for a bit. As I took the BMW for recall work last month, I just happened to drive by the Audi dealership and the s4 just caught my eye, and I began researching until I found one that I just couldn't tell not to.

My list of mods is very small. So far I am thinking of:
    - lowering springs (034 or EMD, haven't decided yet, but learning towards 034 )
    - 10mm spacers
    - ECS carbon fiber front lip and lip over lay
    - carbon fiber spoiler
    - APR tune as soon as it comes out

Other than this, I believe the car would be perfect for me. At this stage in life, my desire to heavily modify my vehicles have faded, and I dont really go to the track anymore, so I am just trying to keep it fun for the streets, and a little more aesthetically appealing, not that it already isn't, but the carbon fiber pieces would make it look better in my opinion.

Let me know what you guys think, and feel free to chime in on what should I add and what not.

Congrats, and welcome back! I too started with a B5, and then went B6 and B7.

I think you'd also really enjoy the 034 rear sway bar and 034 transmission mount, too.

I also have the EMD springs and I think they're solid. Still feels stock but I have the drop I wanted. I also have the 034 rear sway bar & transmission mount among their other products. So you could go that route as well.

Thank you all for the responses. And I'll definitely add the 034 rear sway bar and transmission mount. I've read a lot about both springs, and the things that are swaying me torwards 034 are familiarity with their products, and I remember seeing a post where someone blew one of the shocks on the EMDs.

Great looking car!! Sad we didn't get the option for black optics pkg on the 2018's in Canada.

What size/offset of wheels and tires?

no rubbing but I am running 245/35/19. I will be going to a 255/35/19 we will see if it rubs then. I think it will be ok. That will be the largest tire I can run without rubbing issues

I'm personally running 255/35/19 Dws06 on stock B9 BO wheels with 10f/12.5r spacers. And I'm also dropped on ABT HAS. 90% down front and rear. No rubbing at all. 20190404_194658.jpeg

That's good to know. The 034 springs and spacers are supposed to arrive today, and hopefully install this weekend

    Same.

Been down that road. Every time I part out and return to stock I'm amazed at how the car feels 99% the same, yet the day before I would've told you it's 'way better' than stock. Then I'm further amazed when the bone stock new model matches, or even out-drives, the modified model I just replaced. Truth is, for a dd on the streets, the difference a heavily modded car provides is far more in your head than anything else. Its no different than guys to turn their Wrangler into a rock rig just to drive to the grocery store. (No need for anyone to tell me how wrong I am. Its just my opinion from doing the stock-> mod->par-out routine several times.)

Have fun with it, but don't over do it.

I feel you. I have no desire to do much to it. In my opinion it is almost perfect in stock form, with the exception of ride height. And I only want a mild drop, maybe an inch max, as long as I dont sacrifice ride quality. From reading about the springs I mentioned, it seems the ride quality is very good, very close to stock, so I went with 034. Other than that, just the carbon fiber lip ( still debating?) And the spoiler, just to add some contrast to the white, and considering APR tune when it comes out, but since I got the extended warranty, I would carefully overanalyze that decision.
