^ Good to know, by chance do you have a part number for the "shorter" Bilstein B8's?

    It's been great.

A lot of the issues people had previously were in correct springs from H&R when they were first released.

No reverse rake, actually wish the rears were a hair lower. This was right afyering switching to summer rubber.

    And winter mode

Great looking AR Das Ponto! Running the H&R's with OEM shocks, were you able to do a correct alignment? Or are you cambered, and if so what has your experience been with uneven tire wear? Thanks

    BILSTEING B8 SPORT INSTALL..........FAIL.

    no effect.

finally grabbed a set of rear bilstein B8 sprots dampers #24-145992, a good 3/4 inch shorter dimensionally than the KONI yellows I had on ..... installed, dropped and ..... NO CHANGE REAR RAKE

these H&R sport springs, MADE FOR THE F*CKING ALLROAD supposedly ...... DO NOT FIT/WORK aesthetically, PERIOD. I cant put in to words how pissed off this has me, after weeks and weeks of research and "troubleshooting" their sh*t calculations, which were clearly WRONG for the allroads.

with the new H&R sports and KONI yellows - one week after install ..... HIDEOUS RAKE.

finally got the B8 Sports on , and ...... NO CHANGE ...in fact, it might actually be WORSE by like 1/8 inch \

im pretty much lost at this point .... the H&R' sports supposedly made for the allroad simply DO NOT FIT CORRECTLY , period. Going to try one last thing -- finding a set of SEDAN/S4 H&R sports .... if that ends up just being more f*cking me over, just start saving for proper coilovers.... i cant even orate how much I hate this look right now.

so no surprise, H&R was of ZERO help or assistance at all .... only offered to test my springs up against their stock test springs in their lab , on MY dime (removing springs, shipping them to H&R in Washington ) ...

so I'm just going to save for a proper set of coil-overs or a true H.A.S. kit in the spring (tax time!) .... in the interim, I simply can not stand to even LOOK at my cars hideous stance now -- so I'm putting the Stassis springs back on out back , even though they sank soooo low - Ill mate them with with the Audi ADS spring pad/spacer (13mm) .... hopefully this will keep it "Even keeled" until I can slap a real system in it ....

    FIXED!!!!! more or less ....

FIXED the H&R hideous rear-rake and gap , FINALLY ...... complete "franken-suspension" now, LOL ...going to settle on this until I buy coil-overs in the spring....

removed the H&R sports in the REAR - swapped the old STASSIS Engineering springs back in .... left the gas-charged Bilstein B8 performance plus dampers in (they tend to "push up" a bit more, even through they're shorter dimensionally) .... used the Audi extended spring-PAD , 13mm buffer ....

pre swap -- still with the riduculous gap and height in the rear

swapped in the old Stassis springs (REAR only) , left the bilstein B8's in , and with the 13mm extended spring pad --- it fell back into the "proper" height and gap

end result -- MUCH, MUCH more in-line with the overall ride height and look .... should settle down another 1/8 inch or so as those pads dig in ...

quick surf at lunch - drove around a bit on the way home, couple RR x-ings, a bump or two and a couple loaded right turns at speed -- and it's settled back down to near perfect now --- all hail the "FRANKEN-SUSPENSION"

I think I have the opposite issue as most.

I want to lift my rear to match my front. Have avant s line springs in place right now and have had them for some time, just now getting around to this. Thinking the spring plate may be my best option?

My understanding is the Allroad front shock bodies are about an inch longer than that of an A/S 4/5, this changes the spring perch height and hence the front ride height.

I know it’s subjective, but 26.5”-27” is a great no compromise height, this give very similar ground clearance as a stock A4 Sline.

Wowo I definitely missed this haha... Alignment was done post lowering (as it should always be done). No additional camber required at that height and thus tire wear was great. I've moved on to a B9.5 allroad now, but love how detailed this thread has gotten - such a good resource!

So I looked through this post and I'm still confused. I'm looking to replace my solowerks coilovers on my 2013 allroad this summer with just shocks and lower springs. Looking at H&R springs with stock bilstein replacement shocks. Is this the way to go? Not looking for slammed look but about 27" FTG.

Great thread and sorry a lot of you had to deal with issues... I am using Koni yellows with H&R springs. The previous owner had them installed and trying to get the formula as to what he used exactly and will post details. But, I am VERY happy with the stance and with the 20" wheels, makes me giddy... Rides amazingly well also.

Or for anyone listening who may have the right guidance - I’m trying to land at 28” FTG or right around the and am running 255/40 19 tires. I’d even be ok with the rear a little higher in the front for the same reasons Mac originally mentioned.

Wondering if his set up is the move, or if I should just go coilovers.

Closing the loop on the setup I went with.

    Bilstein B4’s up front (19-226859)
    Bilstein B6’s out back (24-145978)
    H&R Sport Springs (28969-1)

In the five miles back from the shop I am wonderfully pleased.

    FTG:
    Front - 27.5”
    Rear - 27.75”

    Note I am on 255/40 19 tires.

We’ll see if the springs settle in any more.

Ever so slight rake (rear higher than front) but I’m cool with that. After all, I’m just a guy with a wife, two kids, a dog, and lots of bikes and skis to bring the back down level.

Macroadie if you’re still around do you remember what the part number was for the eibachs springs ? Were the same that come with the b12 kit ? If so are the sedan or avant- specs springs ?
