    Moonroof not closing properly

I had the moonroof out when I painted the roof of the car, not everything is back together the glass opens fine but will not close, it goes maybe half way and reopens. If I turn the dial 1 click at a time I can close it. I have also replaced the dial. Is the sunroof like the auto windows, it needs its parameters set? Do I need vagcom?
Sometimes, when I get to the last click of the dial before closed, it takes a couple tries to respond or it reopens again. I feel like it’s behaving as if something is in the way,

    Thanks
