Hello All,

I have had my 2013 S4 for a bit now and I have an issue I cant seem to find a solution on. I have to put my FOB into the dash because when I press the start button, I get this error on my console "convenience key defective use ignition lock"

I have read about this, but there isn't much out there. Here are some facts about my situation:

The FOB works. It unlocks all doors from 50 yards or so.
The door handles will unlock if the FOB is in my pocket and I place my hand on the handle.
The trunk will also open from a distance with the FOB.

I replaced the batteries anyways, but didn't help at all. There is a part number that I have found for a body control module, but its kind of pricey to just buy without knowing it will fix the issue. 8K0907064KP - Body Control Module.

Anyone have any ideas? Looking for any help I can get. Thanks in advance!
