So I recently did a muffler delete on my 2007 s4 and it sounds great. When the car is cold and revved to 1.5-2k it pops and bangs. But when car is fully warmed up it doesnt do it. Can someone tell me why?

do you still have cats? I would imagine that it's because you have ignitable gasses in your exhaust, and it's firing off... when the catalyst heats up it works better and gets rid of the ignitables... just a guess but makes sense in my mind.

This combined with the cold start ECU programming, and you have your answer.

Are you able to post up a vid of how it sounds?

I am trying to figure out what to do with the exhaust on my B6 S4, as the V8 sounds so bland from the outside, but a full exhaust is overkill IMHO. I pulled the secondary cats on my C63 and it just sounds fantastic (it already has an X-pipe), although the exhaust on the C63 is intoxicating stock.

Dude a muffler delete with different tips is all you need. It sounds so dang good, on idle it's a tiny rumble, barely can hear it. But when you step on it, you will grin from ear to ear. Cost my 80$ to get them out and have straight pipes put in their place.

Here is mine, stock exhaust muffler delete, going to be adding A8 D2 manifolds, 2.5 catless downpipes and a catback exhaust, probably with muffler delete again, xpipe and resonators only.

How much louder over stock is it during daily driving (not WOT)? Do you get drone?

The car is dumping a lot more fuel on a cold start.
