No wheat after coolant hose replacement

    Hey guys,

So my wife was driving home from work and said the car overheated. I got it home and see the upper radiator hose snapped. After I replaced the hose and put coolant back in, I left it run for a little while and the heat just wouldnít go on. Did the thermostat break or something? The radio randomly stopped playing sound as well. Doubt itís related .

    Any help is appreciated.

You have to bleed the system/heater core

Add more coolant. Iíve neve had to do anything special to get the system to burp other than a light heat cycle.

this relatively simple seeming issue can come back to bite you really bad. take your time with the coolant refill procedure - seriously - getting all the air out is not a trivial matter and takes time and patience. I haven't used one, but vacuum fill systems are supposed to be great at this.
