TT MK2 wheel in my b5- anyone ever do it?

Iíve got a wheel complete with airbag from a TT mk2- I know its got a dual stage airbag- have anyone ever installed one and been able to connect the horn and airbag?

Iíve been doing some reading but havenít been able to find a diy or a wiring loom adapter.

    Anybody have some experience here?

No experience in this exact situation, but I just responded to your other post.

The airbag works off voltage. Apply voltage, it deploys. So long as the resistance is similar, it shouldn't trigger any issues with the module.

The horn is literally just a open/close switch.

Both should be easy to work with.

Should be pretty easy to tell. Every airbag connector I've seen is yellow.

Dual stage airbags have been proven not to be working in the single stage car, FYI.

B5's are single stage. I saw a post from a different Audi forum where someone had done the wiring in their wheel to "work" with a dual stage airbag but he eventually crashed the car (not on purpose) and the airbag did NOT deploy. From my research you will get mixed reviews of people telling you it can be done and people telling you to not do it at all. IIRC the thread I'm referencing had a poster who was an engineer who actually worked on airbag systems that said it should not be done.

TT MK2 wheel in my b5- anyone ever do it?

The single stage facelift a3 8v airbag will work fine, right? Just have to cut the connector to the b5 and splice on to the 8v airbag harness.

I am looking into this mod next to add the controls to the rnse.

Um yeah- about that link, not sure if I trust any wiring done by a dude who canít form a coherent sentence online. Iíve heard mixed reviews, but both instances Iíve read of people saying their bags didnít work- didnít seem to be writen by very bright bulbs.

No airbag light and the horn will work for sure. Whether the airbag would actually work in an accident, well... only one way to find out.
