Whine when coasting to a stop (30-0mph) 6 speed

So I've developed a loud whine that is only when coasting to a stop in my '11 Quattro 6 speed. I have a 034 Trans Mount with the insert, but Ive had it on for a couple of months now. I'm thinking my driveshaft is gone or it could be deeper. Any ideas?

Likely the prop shaft bearing. Had the same symptoms and it was shot. It sucks that the bearing isn't removable, you need to replace the whole prop shaft.

Is it that center driveshaft support bearing you are talking about?

Not so bad really if you're up for it.

Just have to unscrew it all, take off a center brace and two heat shields, then it should come right off.

A low mileage one can be had on ebay for ~150-200, but you will need new bolts - here

A whole new prop shaft is needed on the B8's correct? You can't just get a new bearing like on the B7 and previous gens.

Is there anyway to confirm this if I get it on a lift? Or is it a trial and error thing?

I stopped by the shop where I mine was being replaced and they showed me the old one - it had a ton of play in the bearing. Maybe jack up the car and get under there to see if you can wiggle it a bit?

Maybe that's the cause of my vibrations and intermittent cut out at wot?

Purchased this one and will have it in next weekend along with motor mounts. I know my current ones are shot, hopefully this solves the whine and bad vibrations when downshifting
