    Yes you can!
I went from 3G Low (bnav) to 3G+...
Straight swap of the main unit, control panel and screen albeit subject to C/P removal.

Native bluetooth streaming and graphics that are slightly more acceptable, but a lot less than what I gained installing my RSNav unit... If I hadn't managed to retrofit it for under €250 I'd be pretty gutted to have gone for it instead of waiting a bit more and save money (RSNav delivery ended up happening 4 months later than initially expected)...

Just a lot more you can do with rsnav. Bigger screens along with accessing odb functions as well. The more time the rsnav has the better it will be, with working out kinks. Upgradability is far easier on rsnav, just not oem. Some features are a bit slower but getting better.

Also rsnav is cheaper with a better system in the long run.

I'm debating the same two options for my Q5 with MMI 3G. Mainly just looking for bluetooth integration to stream spotify. Seems like the component costs will be similar, but am concerned about the installation process and running into the component protection issues. How has the RSNAV reliability been on the most recent firmware?

    Thanks

Just upgraded my RSNav to 3rd Gen. and the improvement is noticeable...

Sound quality is awesome (I've also added the missing tweeter on each front door) and the unit is super reactive...
