I have a 2010 A4 FWD with a little over 95k on the clock. It's been leaking about 1qt of fluid every few weeks (I drive MAYBE 300-500 miles a month) Figured I'd get the Valve cover silicone replaced this week while I can let the car be non-functional as I dig into it. Unfortunately this morning getting off the free way, I have smoke coming from my engine compartment with the smell of burning oil. Get home pop the hood, and not to my surprise there is oil everywhere. I'll tear into that bit here in a few after it cools off.
Anyways here are my options as I was thinking in the first place, this morning just helps decide on the route to go.
Option A)Fix the leak, make sure everything is well and good. Sell the car and buy a 2017 Quattro I've been looking at based out of Texas.
Option B)Fix the leak, start ordering a few mods and a "rebuild" kit. Make the drivetrain nice and tight while giving it a little more "spark"
Option C) Go completely mental with it, I can tear out the drivetrain, look for a donor, convert to AWD, build the motor up, paint it, make it MINE and a nice little grocery getter.
For option C) I just don't know what parts to get for the conversion, or the best way to build these motors to handle the stress of added hp/tq. Which lower end etc.
I do have experience in all of it besides an AWD conversion (too many people talk about it, never get to it with these cars it seems)
Last vehicle I went to an extreme on was a 2016 Camaro SS, did a 416 build with forged lower/pistons, procharger, methanol injection among other goodies. So this I won't be out of my comfort zone or experience.
I can afford for the car to be down for a while as I have other vehicles. But unfortunately I can't decide since I'm not too familiar with Audi and figured this may be the best place to ask since you guys have seen/heard everything.
Thoughts?
