    Halogen to Xenon Swap troubles

    Hello all,

after much research i pulled the trigger on a nice set of bi-xenon b7 a4 US spec headlamps. They were complete with ballasts and bulbs. I was told that if i swapped the headlamps and did program using a vagcom cable, the lights would still work, however, I would get an error message. I put both headlamps in with the wiring adapters and tried to do a test run and nothing. I'm not sure if my headlamps are no good or if they will not work without the vag com programming. Does anyone know? I'm going to put my halogens back in but leave the wiring harness since it's already installed. Hopefully it's the cable and I'll get a cable to program with and can install my headlights at a later date. Thank you

I have not read any method here which allows you to bypass recoding the computer using a vag com cable.

I have the harness adapter and it is all wired up. Both lights don't work though. I'm wondering if it's due to the programming. Thanks

check the connection to the harness and or connect to the correct pin

The headlites should still work with harness and no vag coding . But your high beams will not work

It looks like i have the wrong harness. I purchased a b6 to b7 halogen to xenon conversion when i needed a b7 - b7. Is there a US supplier for this harness? I don't want to wait for international shipping again...
