    Wheel Spacer and Vibrations

Has anyone had any experience with wheel spacers and vibrations? I added 5 mm spacers to all 4 wheels when I installed a set of 18 inch wheels with snow tires (had 19's) and I am feeling a shake starting at aroundd 65 MPH. I guess it could be a bent wheel but wanted to rule our spacers first.

Not all spacers are created equal. What brand?

Do you have centering rings installed on your 18's? Are you running aftermarket wheels? There are different spacers for stock and aftermarket wheels and depending on the brand spacer.

May not make a difference, but are you using longer bolts? Or factory length bolts. Also, is there a lip extending part the hub to make contact with the wheel?

you really need to make sure all touching surfaces are really clean. I use a wire brush on the hub and the back side of the wheel that meets the spacer. never had a vibration problem when doing that

I have always had problems running spacers. Would never use any again. That extra 5mm for looks is just not worth it to me.

I have used 8,10,12,15, and 20mm spacers, never had an issue except maybe rubbing. Maybe 5mm or the thin ones don't have the lip to help keep the wheels centered.
